Guest Kagoshimaowl
This reminds me of last season when Carlos wanted Mark Davies. He obviously wants an experienced player who can sit in front of the back 4 but is also a good passer of the ball
darklord
Can he deliver a free kick that goes forward? We seem to be lacking in those so far this season

Lionel Fessi
Good signing. Without Lee/Bannan duo we have Semedo/Melo as back up...the latter hasn't played a professional match in almost 20 months. We desperately need some cover in the CM area, you would be foolish to think otherwise, we can't depend on that duo every game this season. He isn't a player to get us of our seats but he will bring similar qualities to Lopez last year. Knows how to play the game only with plenty more experience in this division, very clever signing from Carlos and the team. His addition might allow us to push Bannan further forward or allow us to play Hutch as CB with an effective CDM infront of him for those tougher away games. The Night-Owl
Good luck David Jones. Sounds a good signing. Brings plenty of experience. According to this he was a boyhood Wednesday fan and he's aiming to equal Kevin Phillips record of five promotions to the top flight. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3742487/Sheffield-Wednesday-complete-signing-Burnley-midfielder-David-Jones-three-year-deal.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
Guest
Sounds delighted to be here, good solid pro with 4 promotions under his belt is it ?? He's got masses of experience , 100+ premier league appearances You can question where the bloke is going to fit into a midfield already packed with talent but you can't question the quality of signing.. Top drawer from the club again Looking at that midfield though, I think Bannan Abdi Lee and Jones will take some keeping out , Buckley has a lot to offer but him and Wallace may have a mountain to climb getting in that midfield now

ashamanic
The club haven't updated yet, but it could give a lot of flexibility. Possibly Wallace to drop out if he does make his debut at the weekend, - Jones, Lee, Bannan and Abdi in midfiled

Charlie Chuck
Abdi was played out of position at Watford and I can't see him dropping a league to play out of position with us. I think the earlier poster who had a 4-2-3-1 formation with Bannan and Jones sitting a bit deeper, Abdi the central player in the three attacking midfielders with Lee on one side, Forestieri on the other, with Fletcher up front might have it spot on. Having Jones holding would allow for the full backs to push on which would put Wallace's place under threat, He has been poor at the back end of last season and the start of this (apart from the Brighton goals). A bench of Wildsmith, Loovens/Hutchinson, Palmer, Wallace/Matias, Buckley, Hooper and Joao looks pretty good to me. Get rid of Sougou, Helan and one or two others and it's looking up. Unless we get in a new LB, we have to keep Helan. Plenty of other deadwood though

Also leaving out Dielna, Lachman, McGugan, Lavery and Bus who will probably be moved on. I don't think I have forgotten anyone. We need a specialised CB, cover at LB and a left sided midfielder/winger. If Jones signs then 3 more will do it. Really think we need a stronger Right back before another winger. rawowl
Hunt has been excellent in the first 2 games. Can't see us signing a right back unless we get rid of Palmer & Vermijl

WalthamOwl
He supported Wednesday as a kid. I can't imagine him coming here to sit on the bench, will be interesting to see where he fits in to the team. Looking forward to it being made official though :-)
