I understand why some wanted a brute, but after the dire football we've seen in recent years, I'm loving this technical side Carlos is putting together. Hopefully no more lumps and units for a while.

I don't think it matters whether they are a lump or unit as long as they can sit in front of the back four and link play from there and to be able to tackle too.

Bannan was tried there vs Villa and I think he struggled. Lopez struggled to impose himself sometimes too. Whether Jones can do it, who knows? Burnley looked a very physically capable side

The lack of young first teamers in our squad is a bit of a shame, but I am sure that if we were to get promoted we would land some of the best young talents.

In terms of getting promoted from the Championship though an experienced squad is perfect. This is a fantastic signing.

3 year deal for a 31 year old. No wonder it's gone through quick

So looking at the squad as it stands now with Jones coming in and FF potentially staying put... 3 players needed? 1 CB, 1 LB and 1 Winger?  Try and move on Helan and Sougou along with Lachman, Dielna, McGugan and Bus, Would then give us a squad of 27 which should be about right.

Carlos seems to be liking the 4-4-2 now, but this team looks so good...

              Westwood

Hunt   Lees  Hutchinson   Pudil

          Jones      Bannan

      Lee     Abdi    Forestieri

               Fletcher

Was just about to say he'll allow us to go 4-2-3-1

Never seen him play, but his CV is impressive in the Championship.

Career pass accuracy of 83%. 7 assists in 41 Championship games last season.

Very high number of passes per game. Likes to play a long ball and a good interceptor of passes.

Looks like he would fit the bill.

Trouble with you Joel is you're all heart and passion.

Why does nobody ever say "he's got a great right foot on him" about right footed players

But you always hear people going on about players having a great left peg or a sweet left foot, seems unfair to me

Careful, you'll be halfway up the town hall clock in a Batman costume this time tomorrow

..........................................................Westwood, Wildsmith, Kean

Hunt, Palmer, Vermijl.........Lees, Semedo................................Hutchinson, Loovens.......................Pudil, Helan

Wallace, Buckley..............Lee, Bannan...................................Jones, Abdi, Melo............................Matias, Sougou

.........................................FF, Hooper......................................Fletcher, Nuhiu, Joao

Not counting any of the youngsters. Also leaving out Dielna, Lachman, McGugan, Lavery and Bus who will probably be moved on.

I don't think I have forgotten anyone.

We need a specialised CB, cover at LB and a left sided midfielder/winger.

If Jones signs then 3 more will do it.

Happy with this. Solid CV & seems like a good professional. Hope it's a 2 year deal with the option of a 3rd on our part though. If not, we're going to end up with a team of geriatrics in 2 years time.

LB, CB, winger, then done. Just need to ship out Vermijl, Sougou, Helan, McGugan, Melo, Lachman, Dielna and Bus to even up the wage budget as well.

Callum McManaman - played with Daniel Jones at Wigan, who played with Wallace at Burnley and Fletcher at Wolves, who played with Bannan for Scotland, who played with Hunt at Palace

Played very deep in that Video, stayed back and wasn't involved in too much attacking play, but his passing was accurate and in front of the player for him to run on to.

I can see from his set pieces, why Michael Keane scored so many goals, Tom Lees makes similar back post runs so i would expect him to knock a few in next season, with Jones delivering
