sMacLean
Didn't realise until fairly recently he'd played for us , great goal against Liverpool.Only knew of him from Villa onwards, him and Saunders upfront was a great partnership for them. woldsowl
I met him once in a shop on Ecclesall Road. He approached me and couldn't stop chatting and laughing. A genuinely friendly guy. RIP.

As a 16 yr old at the time, he was my hero- and yes more of a hero than Hirst at the time. I was exactly the same mate was only 10 my first Wednesday hero. DuttyTeabags
I was at whiteacres holiday camp in Newquay when I found out he was being sold, ruined my holiday. Was gutted for entire summer. RIP flash (he was quick)
Mountain Owl
This is so sad. Brilliant CF. His pace was electric and defenders just bounced off him. Great finisher as well. Very similar to Hirsty. RIP Dalian
The only way is S6
RIP. Some great memories. Was at that game above, after racing back from working in Liverpool, taking loads of stick from the scousers. I told them we'd beat them. Sad news. NorfolkNChance
Great player in his day, scored a beauty for Villa against the Wednesday in 92/93 from memory Never forget the bloke with the brolly who celebrated on the pitch with him when he scored the goal of the season against Wimbledon (again for Villa) RIP

sheriwozgod
Sad news........................one of the best English strikers of my lifetime not to play for his country. When him and Hirsty were "at it" they remain to this day the most exciting strike partnership i have seen us have. I once met him late one Sunday night in the kebab shop that used to be at the bottom of the ramp outside was what then Roxy,s , in my semi drunken state i said hiya Dalian like i knew him and started chatting about all things Wednesday.....came across as a really nice bloke....even payed for my kebab!!! PS We know he was "a bit of a lad " as a quick read through Big Rons book will testify as well as the rumours in his time with us but that post from Nev , without anone knowing the facts was awful...........time and a place. DeeJayOne
Oh, man. I only spoke to him fairly recently as well. He was under the impression he wasn't particularly well regarded at Wednesday because, in his words, he "wasn't here long enough to make a big enough impression." I told him he was wrong and although he was only here a short time he was fondly remembered by the fans and that I can't remember ever hearing a bad word about him. Malkmus
Really sad news. I was 13 at the time of the Liverpool game and sat in the South Stand, remember it well. Great player, felt awful when he left but his fee help finance the 90/91 season. My thoughts go out to his family. RIP
