I cant believe this, so sad. As a 16 yr old at the time, he was my hero- and yes more of a hero than Hirst at the time.

I'm truly shocked and saddened. :(

The game that got me hooked on the Wednesday,

was that game against the mighty 1980's Liverpool side

back in the late 80's when Hirst and Atkinson ran rings around them.

I remember watching the game with my grampa who was a Liverpool fan like my dad was

and I didn't have a team but Wednesday chose me because I was awestruck with Hirst and Atkinson.

What a player he was on his day.
