Do ya'll hate the idea of tailgating? Because tailgating is f**cking AWESOME and with the price of a pint at the ground it helps getting wasted off cheap lager in the car park beforehand.

Doesn't work without a proper car park though does it?

Bit of a trek from your seat during the match.

It's got the basics there, more would buy before the game but that would only benefit the North Stand. SAG wouldn't be happy for all the Kop to go that way

Good point,. Could eithe rlimit to one stand ot split the car park in half.

Ideally it would be people in early having a beer & burrito or something

LOADS of vendors in Sheffield (Even more in Yorkshire).

Vendors who have been to Peddler Night Market in Sheff recently

Shoot the Bull / The Hip Hop Chip Shop / Smoqued / Percy & Lily's / Chaat Cart / Dim Sum Su / Manjits Kitchen / YakuMama / Splendid Kitchen / Smokin Blues / Propa Reyt Pies / Pie Eyed / Crepe Lucette / The Mussel Pot Ltd / The Fat Hippo Burger Bar / NetherEdge Pizza Co //

Another consideration is that a lot of the kiosks are just that - kiosks. Small spaces where people sell stuff that is cooked elsewhere and just stocked up in the kiosk ready for serving.

There is no prep or cooking/catering facilities within most of the kiosks and to retrofit that, for most foods, into them is either extremely cost-prohibitive or perhaps even impossible due to the small spaces and lack of modern catering facilities built into the infrastructure of the stadium.

So, to have multiple different caterers with different types of foods might be a stretch. Largely the food will have to be prepared elsewhere then taken to hotplates on the concourse kiosks to be sold. This works where there are lots of the same foods warmed up (pies, etc) in spaces at the stadium then taken to the kiosks - or for local suppliers (e.g. Beres) who are situated close to the ground and can supply in from nearby but actually prepping/making bespoke or complex dishes for the concourses that aren't cooked up in the kitchens anyway for hospitality, etc, might be really difficult and would need a significant change to the infrastructure of the stadium.

Get a few friers in for a start I'm sure providing chips on each part of the ground can't be too hard. But your right it would or could need a complete refurb to accommodate any improvements. That might be why they are asking for patience.

Theres very strict rules and building regulations around the installation of fryers and other catering equipment that would be difficult to put into a lot of areas.

Needs a big investment and perhaps some structural changes to accommodate some people's expectations going by this thread.

Are there really regulations that govern how many Franciscan Monks you can have in the ground? lol

Of course it needs new investment. Every concourse we have needs major investment - new catering, new bars, seating areas and toilets. The upper concourse on the north is pretty poor.

The concourses are too small to accommodate anything of an substance other than people now, going by today's safety standards and regulations. Unless they literally rebuild parts of them, don't expect any major aesthetic changes.

This ultimately boils down to staying/leaving Hillsborough.

Theres enough room to expand properly at the current ground and the concourses should be a priority. Large concourses could have merchandise sales, better bars, more seating to attract people to spend money earlier etc. Investment doesn't need to be millions upon millions. Have a look at http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=130637642&postcount=2158.

That could be achieved on the north by expanding the concourses, removing all the existing kiosks and having big pod units for new catering facilities, toilets etc.

get staff to operate the kiosks not minimum wage (ive never done this before staff).

Keg beer rather than warm cans.

Tills rather than staff adding up

Its a simple procedure, there is 15 minutes at half time so you need to serve as many people as quickly as possible so you need to invest in equipment, staff and tills to meet the demand (maybe even a little trip to the 21st Century would help).

The Kop kiosk and toilets arrangements do not work, cause over crowding and are  a nightmare at the best of times, there is loads of spare room and with very little investment this could make the whole pre-kick off, half time and full time experience a lot more pleasant as well as profitable.
