The atmosphere was incredible. The sun was shining. Hirsty's screamer. Then when we were 2-0 up it felt fantastic. The rest I have tried to forget.

astonishing game with the build up and how it panned out - that photo of the Villa team coach arriving behind the old South stand - people were still very angry at BFR.

Best example you'll ever get of a manager winning a game....we battered them first half.....at half time they dropped even deeper and we pushed up ....every time they got the ball they smashed it over our heads for Dalian et al to run on to and the rest is history

I saw the look of horror on andy grays face when the coach pulled into the ground.and doug ellis the chairman walking into the ground by himself so not to be recognised

He basically knew everything about our team and what to do to change the match. It was inevitable that we'd lose at half time.

Hirst was absolutely unbelievable.

First match after I had moved my season ticket from the kop to  the north stand. The kop was still standing and I would preferred to have had the last season on there but me and my mates wanted to reserve good seats in the north before the inevitable exodus from the ruined kop. 

 

The venom aimed at Atkinson as he came out before the game was amazing. I have never forgiven him for his decision to leave. Imo it cost us the title. Time does not heal all old wounds.
