Got to be a wind up

Assume you forgot to read the bits about doubting it would happen and he's on mega-money then?

IF Cahill doesn't get a look in under their new manager, and IF he's willing to drop down to the Championship to play for the club he supports, and IF he takes a massive pay cut, then I'd love him to be at S6.

Hope that clears up any confusion! lol

Jake Cooper at Reading would be my recommendation. Left footed, England U'20 international. Had a great game against us at Hillsborough last season.

He did, and yes, I wouldn't mind him, as someone we could develop. Him, or Mawson, in that respect

Reading players are probably off limits to us though, aren't they? Relations between the hierarchies of both clubs probably make them unlikely.

Teams are not going to stand back and admire us knocking the ball about.

They will make it a physical game and also bypass the midfield by going long. We need a big strong centre half who doesn't get bullied and dominates in the air.

By the same token, why waste money on a top striker, when we can train someone to score the goals. How difficult can it be to score a goal from 12 yards

Or when you go into surgery for heart bypass and breast specialist pops up, both on mega bucks and use scalpel - what's the need for specialists!

Adrian Mariappa  , released by Palace ( ex watford) . Centre back who can also play at right back . might be worth a look. We definitely need some players for Carlos to rotate,as we have 7 games in 20 days in August.

Decent defender and could certainly do a job for us although not the tall dominating centre half we were all hoping for. Could look at steven taylor, if he didnt want too much in wages could be a good performer in this league. Also joel ekstrand, good defender but think he failed a medical at leeds so adding another injury prone defender to our books might not be what were after

Suprised at that, thought he would still had something to offer in this country, especially at this level. Mariappa and ekstrand are the stand out freebies and there doesnt seem to be too many stand out players, not unless we are willing to pay big for, but seem as though we wouldnt fork out for hanley, i dont think we will be spending as 7mil plus on the likes of flint, dunk etc. We will have our targets and wouldnt be suprised if we went down the foreign route for this one as value for good players in england is very hard to find
