Centre Half , but who?

Dunk for me (Brighton). Young, tall, paced, reads a game well and would be a real asset to us. Can see him partnering Lees for many years their forming a great partnership. Both these two were the best centre backs outside the prem last season.

He would only leave Brighton for a prem club, and I doubt it would be for less than £10m.

Yohan Tavares for me.

Said it on a different thread, had a really good 2/3 seasons at Esporil finishing in top 5 or 6 in Portuguese prem as their captain.

He's just left them after contract has expired so no fee, wouldn't demand a massive wage, still a good side of 30 & speaks multiple languages including English.

Sounds like a decent shout even just as back up. Can't go wrong with having another leader on the field either.

Duffy isn't good enough, poor defender. Slow and cumbersome. Flint is similar, but a slightly better version. Both are touted about as they have a few goals in them, but their defending isn't promotion standard, in my opinion. Don't get why they are worth £3m+. £500k ok, worth a gamble for that price but not the values being talked about.

I can see us signing a loan player or someone from abroad on a cheap deal.

Just need to find a new Emerson thome!

Dunk would be a great signing, but Brighton are holding out for big money.

They're open to sell but only for the right price. They've openly rejected bids but nowhere have they said hes not for sale

P.Lughole  ?? Never 'eared of him. And we certainly don't want a big cat at the heart of our defence.

Oooops, cannot say what is a common word for puddytat................ :columbo:

I'd love us to sign Maguire.

Good player at a good age. He is a bit slow but his other attributes make up for that.

Plus, it would p*ss off the pigs beyond measure too, which is always a bonus.

Hull aren't really in a position to be letting players go though, and I doubt we would meet their valuation.

Dawsons out for a period, so Maguire will probably start come the 13th. No chance he will leave.

If we were serious about Hanley, then that shows our ambition to bring in the best available. It's a shame we missed out on him, but if we can identify a similar prospect, then we should do everything within our power to get him on board
