NEW SWFC KIT REVEALED - What do you think?

Recommended Posts

So we play in all blue now,and we charge 45 quid for sky games weve managed to price most of the kids out and this is our reward for backing the club at wembley.

Foreign owners,I suppose his thinking is if we look a bit like leicster did when they got promoted LOL,,,,

Initially I wasn't impressed and I still don't like the pinstripe thing, but I have to say in terms of quality it looks far superior to any home shirt we've had in years. The badge and Sondico logo both stitched on, the collar and the dri-cool type fabric.

It would've looked really nice with proper stripes.

Love the kits....I have a Bukta retro kit but really like the home shirt so may well buy it.

i understand fans preferring large stripes but it's a one off and I'm sure we'll be back to 'fat' stripes next season.

Embrace the change and all that

some are moaning over the club's traditional badge appearance, can't see why...

the blue bodied shirt does carry a white pin stripe, so there could be a reasoning that the blue and white stripe tradition is continued...

and of course in the 60's we had the blue and white version of what arsenal wear, whilst the early 70's had us in a much broader blue and white stripe, the earliest piccy i believe i have seen of wednesday had them in blue n' white hoops, but i have to add at this point the blue and white one doesn't fill me with enthusiasm, pride, or willingness to buy, in fact none of them do...

the black one is the best of a rather 'poor' selection for me...

I think the pinstripes have rightly taken the limelight, but the collars also look garbage IMO.

i agree the collar looks utter tripe (polite version of what i'm actually thinking)...

tbh, i wouldn't have one given to me, and that fact must be a problem when hoping to sell in numbers...

I 'like' them all. But I'd only buy one of them ...

Home: Great nod to history. I was inspired when I read about the reference. I agree it's a stretch for traditionalists. Change is scary for some!

I like the shirt - just needed black shorts. I have never liked us in blue shorts. We look just like every other blue n white stripe team with blue shorts.

Why no 1867 and swfc on sleeves? And why a different (naff) collar? Collar/sleeve finishes not as nice as the other two.

Also don't like the over design on the WAWAW type.

Won't buy it tho. When I wear a Wednesday shirt, it's the classic stripes I am wearing like a flag. You can't change your flag!

We are not pinstripes. Happy for one season to let the Chairman get it out of his system.

Away: Not a patch on last season's away kit - now that was class. Maybe could have kept that one?

I think a lot of people are still in the market for last season's away shirt.

I know (myself and my son included) couldn't get one last season. Too good for one season that one.

The orange is striking but I've seen it before. Maybe a bit chav. Also SUFC are playing the same. I won't be buying this one!

Third: This is the best of the lot. Such a smart, almost retro look. Should be our first choice away strip for me. Much better than the orange.

Could be a classic. The best of the lot by a country mile. If we go up - this is the one I want to keep. I'd buy it tomorrow.

So for me, from a business perspective it's a fail:

Tinkered too much with the home strip - it won't sell.

The orange is also sufc - it won't sell.

Third is great. I imagine demand will outstrip supply like last season's away shirt so can't sell a lot.

Maybe we need a two season strategy for away shirts too? Not many folk can afford a shirt every season.

good post with some decent reasoning on it, but i doubt from a sales point of view that you'll see a 2 year shirt, that would amount to commercial suicide...

Not impressed, but never huy a shirt anyway.  My daughter always has one and she has chosen the white kit this year, which of the three is probably the nicest.

Sondico are wamk though,   look forward to a proper kit supplier next year.

Guest BULGARIA

how hard is it to design a blue and white striped shirt that looks like SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY!!!

The home shirt is not that bad but it looks nothing like SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY!!

Our reward for backing them at Wembley!!!!!

FFS!!!!

our reward was watching them at Wembley

our kit has changed multiple times over the years and no doubt it will return to the more traditional blue n white stripes next season

or the season after.

DC has been very good for us so far and if for the odd season he feels like he needs to try and reinvent the wheel, then let him.

if he finds its not working out in sales, he will soon go back to a traditional kit.

The lack of stripes will only serve to fuel the Hooper weight argument. From a fashion perspective, this design does the lad no favours.

I'd argue that Hooper is under height, as opposed to over weight.

I have bought every shirt since early 80s and no doubt will buy these even though I prefer us to be in blue and white stripes. My main objection this time is £55 for sondico when same quality shirts are in s direct for a fiver minus the the main thing the Wednesday badge which makes the shirt regardless of design.

55 quid for a retro Leicester City shirt is scandalous.

Just because they had a great season and won the Premier League doesn't mean we have to jump on their bandwagon.

Shameful profiteering and I just hope they don't take legal action.

Everyone entitled to an opinion and they don't have to like it. But some of the reactions I've seen have been absolutely pathetic. The Daily Mail now have an article on their website about it, quoting a few of our drama queen fans on Twitter.

Seriously, it's a kit. It's blue and white and it has our badge on it. It's unique to us because it's different to the other kits in our history. It doesn't change our identity one bit.

I applaud the club for trying something different.

It will be used for 10 months and then we'll have another one.
