What the rest of the league are getting up too. (Transfer Update)

Just to put things into perspective.

Villa have spent £39 million with De Laet.

Newcastle have spend £46 million excluding whatever they pay for Judge.

Mind blowing.

Villa chasing £10m strikers like Dost and Hernandez too. I'm sure they'll land another biggie up top.

Newcastle will be virtually an entirely different team of players to what got relegated, which would usually mean they take a while to bed in - but the quality of them all is pretty staggering for this league.

Guessing they have a few more likely to leave though - Sissoko for one

I Get that the parachute payments are around £14 million a season or somewhere close, what I dont get is how these clubs can go spunking £40-50m, Newcastle fair enough as they've sold lots of players for good sums, but Villa ? how are they generating the income to cover this spending ? surely they're not.

I think its promotion or bust for Villa.

I'm pleased we have got one of the villa games out of the way already. Signed some good players in the last couple of weeks.

We really need the bring a few more players in if we are serious about even challenging for the top 6. League is even more difficult than last year with the teams that have come down and the likes of Wolves having spending power now.

this year is somewhat of a freak season bearing in mind the teams which came down and takeovers resulting in ridiculous spending.

what we had in our favour was team spirit to compensate, but appears to be some doubt over this.

Last season was such a great chance for us to get promoted, so disappointed the players didnt turn up against Hull. Going to be so much tougher this season with the crazy spending going on.

Championship clubs interested in Martin Samuelsen from West Ham, with Ipswich thought to be leading the chase.

wouldn't mind him coming here. That goal against the pigs last season. Allready a Hillsborough legend

Newcastle bidding for Judge who suffered a double leg-break and still hasn't recovered sufficiently to play as far as I know. Will be interested to see their bid. He may not be as good this season under the circumstances.

Parachute payments after earning around £100m for getting relegated from the PL

Makes me absolutely sick and yes a tad jealous but how shocking that Premiership clubs are basically financially rewarded for been sh!t the previous season. You can guarantee if we ever went up the FA would stop them lol

What have Newcastle raked in through sales though, I'll bet it'll end up not being far from that and they'll have trimmed some high earners off their payroll: I still hate them tho!

Yedlin to Newcastle seems a goer. Probably the replacement for Janmaat.

My understanding is he'll have to have a rigourous medical for insurance purposes. I don't think he'll be a crock.
