If the M40 is clear come of M1at 15a silverstone follow the a43 to M40 straight in to Wembley, it's 15 minutes difference in my truck so about 5 mins in the car.

Ps the A5 is OK until you get near Dunstable then it's all stop probably longer than you would have waited on the motorway

Just gone past accident .. Highways just cleared it from hard shoulder

All lanes open?? Problem is it takes quite a while to get back to normal

Came off at 23a taking a42, m42, M40. 25 miles more but currently 15 mins faster than m1

Yeah all lanes open - however congestion after junction 13 .. Taken us 20 mins to clear that

I used to travel down to Hayes / Heathrow regularly, this was always my prefered route when any traffic was about, used to put about 20 miles on the journey but saved much more time and stress, you can also stay on the M40 /A40 pretty much through to Wembley...

Totally recomend this route !
