That Bristol City opening game seems like 5 minutes ago. Vividly remember cursing the fact Helan had 'hell onto the ball too long' right before he passed to Wallace who crossed for McGugan's goal.

 

I thought we were fantastic that day. Really good.

 

But LOOK at how far we've come since then!!

What a difference a year makes, wonderful

Two things really stand out for me watching that:

1) More than half of our goals have been a direct result of how often we get forward in numbers. I knew it'd been a key part of our approach all season, but seeing them all linked together like that, it's really noticeable. About 65% of the times the ball crosses the line, there are at least three Owls shirts within five feet of it. Often completely outnumbering the defence. Beautiful.

2) Hooper's goals are *so* emphatic. I think there are possibly two he scored all season that were in any way 'wobbly', the rest were absolutely nailed on the second they left his boot. He's clinical as hell.

Oh, and if you want a 3)...Forestieri celebrates other people's goals more than his own. EFFING LOVES IT

It's just nice to see so many of them... and such a variety too.

Set-pieces, long balls, short one-twos, crosses... we're a danger going forward, and it's marvelous.
