dr. benway
I'm still looking for one ticket unless I get it the ballot this morning, got two of the three I needed from our season tickets but coundn't get one for my wife as she works saturday's but goes to midweek matches bought through my account, problem is I did not know about allocating the tickets to friends and family until it was too late. I think there are a few pay on the dayers and thoose who get tickets through mates who go on a regular basis who have falllen foul of the new system even though it is fairer for most people. I have given my ticket to my wife and am hoping to get one either this morning in the ballot or via a tout outside the ground. Can someone give Middlewood Owl a ticket just for the extremely professional paragraph justification? I salute you, sir.
Mr Farrell
Willing to marry your daughter/sister/mother for 2 tickets. No limitations or pictures required.
Guest lynblu
Get your son to vouch for you and shut up any doubters. That is the whole idea of this thread. couldn't give a monkeys what doubters think, yeah I could get my son to vouch for me but why the Hell should I ? I know I'm genuine, it's a genuine plea I'm making and my conscience is clear. Thought we were all Wednesday fans on here, why the back biting and bad feeling *sigh*
johnwardell
I'm chasing one solitary ticket. Prepared to sit next to the devil himself. No sob story, no begging. If you can help please do.
whatevertrevor
Well I also posted looking for tickets in that thread. But to be honest I joined 2 years ago and posted 600odd times because I just had a funny feeling that in 2016 Sheffield Wednesday were going to have been bought by someone with money, make the playoff final, have a shortage of tickets and there being a ticket request thread on Owlstalk in which i can use my history to acquire tickets which I could then sell on at a 400% mark-up. I would have got away with it too if it wasn't for....
Rhubarb n Custard
Just been reading the thread where the bloke offered three tickets due to a baby being born and it is scary how many people who were asking for tickets have no history on Owlstalk whatsoever and have only been members for the last week or so. This has lead to many concluding, fairly or not, that they are touts. Now I'm not saying that they are touts; I think it is perfectly reasonable that some genuine fans may have joined the forum in their desperation for tickets. However it is at least a little suspicious when the vast majority of those asking for tickets have no history. So this is what I am suggesting. People with genuine long term histories of using Owlstalk and who are looking for tickets can put their names in here and other long term posters can vouch for them. Then people looking to sell tickets can look in here for people who are more likely to be genuine. As for people who have no history but are genuine, I realise that this is not fair on you. So how about this: you will probably have friends on here who have been posters for much longer. Maybe you can get them to post a testimonial for you or something. There must be lots on here whose word can be trusted. Of course I realise how elitist this thread may appear and I understand if the mods decide it is unfair and chose to delete it. No hard feelings if so; I was just trying to find a solution to the problem we are having. Anyway, I'll start the ball rolling: The only poster in that thread asking for tickets that I have ever heard of before was CoopsSWFC I think you're over thinking this one. I've been on the forum ( although not very actively ) for years. Didn't do me a jot of good and any tout using this method of trying to buy spare tickets has a serious amount of competition on his hands. If he should happen to be successful I say good luck to him it would be nothing short of a minor miracle. Pretty demoralising scratching round here for two weeks for nothing. Self polices already if you ask me.
Adem Poric
I'm a new poster. I think this is a terrible idea (obvs, as I want tickets to sell on for extreme profit). Mods please lock this thread. Thanks.
nebneeb
Surely this can be resolved with a quick quiz? I've been a lurker for a few years but being based in London it's pretty difficult to get to games (££££). I had priority points by my poor dad didn't, so I opted to wait for GS in the hope of sitting with him (which was a mistake!). Now praying for luck in the ballot... What is the Owlstalk spelling of the Sheffield Wednesday motto and where did the 'special' spelling originate?

trevdi9
If we are going by post count you are all touts , haha only joking seriously though I can se where the O P is coming from , but tarring new comers as touts is a bit much as their is no way of telling who is genuine or who is not best way I feel is to let the one who has spare tickets decide who wins a ticket or not , sorry about the edit as it's the only way my smileys work Edited May 26, 2016 by trevdi9

alanharper
To be fair, if you ever look at the members list it seems like about 90% of registered Owlstalkers have either never or hardly ever actually posted.

Paddy Owl
Hi all In my case I have always read owlstalk but never joined until the desperate need for tickets when we didn't get on tuesday. Living in Ireland for 21 years, we get to a game every year, was at charlton home this year in march but did not use my id to buy 2 tickets. I was at wembley 4 times in 93 and in cardiff in 05. Hoping desperately for 2 tickets for myself and my 8 year old son who is finally adopting the owls as his team (rather than the usual man u's, chelsea etc over here)....... Let me know if any help available. Thanks UTO
Rhubarb n Custard
From my side I could've got one ticket for myself with my ID TTP ( which ultimately went to waste ) but wanted to go with a mate so waited for general sale. See tickets was an utter shambles come Tuesday morning. I drove to Hull yesterday just as they changed the rules on hull ID's so got turned away. Capped this all off being berated in my own teams forum cos I didn't know the special password in the funny handshake club. flippinggreat week. Thought I'd never say this but thank god for Sky Tv.
