BIG D
I'm sure I remember that there was an agreement last year where the losers of the play off final kept all the prize money from the final which was around £5M? So, even if we don't make it to the promised land this time we will have a healthy wedge in the Wednesday coffers.

dawkeye
I'm pretty certain that the football league take half of the ticket receipts from the final, but there is usually an agreement in the championship playoffs that the losing team gets the winning team's share. alanharper
Read somewhere last week that the total gate receipts are around £6m - but the FL take half of that and the two finalists get £1.5m each - so if we lost to Hull and they honour the agreement that's been in place for the last few years, we'd make £3m in gate receipts from the final. Plus the money from the semis and TV revenue of course.

Beauchief Owl
£5 million is not to be sniffed at, but peanuts compared to the big prize which will make us into one of the world's richest thirty or so football clubs, at a stroke.
BIG D
I agree, but £5M on top of what DC is willing to spend would be substantial in the Championship. It would double Uniteds gate receipts for the whole season
