wakefieldowl
33 years ago I was absolutely devastated to lose that semi at high bury. It was one of the best and one of the worst days ever. Loved it all so much until they scored that second. It broke my heart............. Tonight has exocised that ghost......that's for 83 you f****** !!! I thought Brighton were outstanding tonight for 45 mins, unplayable......so why do they have to dive and cheat like they did......and for that reason they got exactly what they deserved.....nothing. See ya losers
sheffix
Same feelings exactly. Tears were shed that day although we never really had control of the game. Just being in a semi after so long was an amazing feeling and the disappointment at losing so close to Wembley was intense. What goes around etc etc. Just wish it didn't take so long. Everton, we are coming for you.

Toon Owl
I was in the military based in Portsmouth. Travelled to Highbury on service train with Brighton fans. Never felt so gutted on the way back down also with them. Karmas a ***** aint it? 😀
matthefish2002
Didn't we also get revenge in 2006 by beating them at the Withdeam Stadium sending them down and making ourselves safe?
alanharper
Jimmy Case, Michael Robinson, Jimmy Melia with your stupid white shoes and weird hair, those Brighton fans on the clock end with their one song, Steve Foster, can you hear me, Steve Foster, your boys took one helluva beating

I was there that day as an 11 year old. I remember being impressed by the comfy cushioned seats at Highbury and being close to tears when Jimmy Case scored. We took a 93 year old guy down with us who sat near us for home games and we lost him at the services on the way back. We found him on the floor in the car park after he'd wandered off and tripped over a traffic cone.

See ya losers 100% agree with that.I was at Highbury that day and they stole it then. They did play well in the first half but we held out and then they reverted to type, cheating, niggling divers who committed fouls that would have been sin binned in rugby. Tarquin
Went down on the "Intercity Owl" train. Absolutely gutted , Jimmy Melias` antics of arriving by helicopter at the final was so over the top . Made me mad enough to bear an incredible grudge against BHA. Lot of water under the bridge since but it was assuaged last friday and I have a silly smug grin on my face now. . Revenge is a dish best served cold!
