Nerves

Recommended Posts

On my own in the office today (hence being not able to go to Brighton), caught myself aimlessly pacing around the room twice.

Bricking it, far worse than Friday - before the play offs we had nothing to lose, now we've got a massive day out with a potential huge prize to lose

Benn nervous for most of the day. I see most games but watching it on tv is excruciating. I seriously thought about taking a long walk but will probably watch it. It's going to be a long 90 minutes. 60 years following Wednesday and the nerves and anxiety get no better.

I am nervous as well, and I can't wait for 7.45pm. Really strange feeling getting this for a team other than Palace.

The latest Rocky film (Creed) is out on DVD today and the Mrs pre-ordered it to watch tonight.I told her that's not happening we will have to watch it tomorrow.

Brighton will score first, to give them hope over 80 minutes and then Bannan on 89 minutes to send the Owls to Wembley

UTO!!!

Remember the one at Brentford.....eleven years ago today.

I could have watched it on Sky but instead I just took my son to a youth club where I knew they wouldn't have TV or radio, chatted to the people for an hour or so and then came back home. I walked in, spent 15 minutes in the loo knowing that my wife would have at least seen the score and only then walked in the lounge with about five to go. Just said "happy or sad" and the smile on her face said it all. Those last five minutes was the only bit of the two Brentford games I managed to watch.

Last Friday we were out for an evening in London which was organised months ago, feverishly refreshing Twitter every five seconds for the score. That somehow doesn't seem too bad. But tonight I just don't know if I can watch it. That's if, with the nerves I feel, I'm still alive then....

jesus christ that game was 11 years ago?!?!?! crazy

Good choice of film I watched it months ago on showbox but I suspect if she wants to watch a boxing match best tune in to the match tonight because it may go the full 12 rounds

And hopefully it will be dis-allowed! Though it won't be as a result of our players going over and crying to the linesman!

I always feel that games like this on TV there is an unwritten rule of a 90th minute equaliser/ winner. Im nervous although I think overall we will go through.

Not been able to concentrate all day at work and just sitting here clock watching. I want it to be over now to be honest the wait is killing me. Not felt like this about football for a long time.

Anyone, like me, who watched us surrender a two goal lead in the 1966 Cup Final can never feel "quietly confident." Two goals up with ten minutes left in a game is always bad enough isn't it, never mind ninety minutes left. Saying that, we'd all have taken 2-0 wouldn't we ? If no team has ever come back from a 3 goal deficit in the Playoffs, 2-0 should be quite a safe position.  And Imagine how Brighton fans must feel right now.

brighton fans have probably accepted that they are already out or they will put on the best fightback ever, This sort of game has nothing to lose now for them and they attend tonight with a small chance of making final and expectations low.

We have it all to lose as we are in front. I think that is why I am so nervous.

Yes, I saw the 1966 final and 2.0 leads scarred me forever. Please let us put that memory to bed tonight.

As for booze, I had to have a livener early today (1pm) as have been away for a couple of nights for the other half's 50th. Needed it just to feel human again.

So Far I have had

Bloody Mary (soft southern drink)

Pint Estrella (Soft Southern Drink)

2 bottles Grolsch (Sort Southern Drink)

I will create a new cocktail based on non soft yorkshire drinks if the owls do it tonight :-)

It's natural to be nervous at these times, because they don't happen very often for us and we want it so badly. I've been going since 1952 and I just want us back in the top league again, never mind CC's by 2017 !
