madfan
Albert played for Chesterfield, but was a scout and trainer for the Owls at the end of his career. I had the pleasure of working with him before he signed for Chesterfield. He was a "cross boy " like me. He never got the recognition he deserved as a sweeper .Born the same year as me and a lovely lad. R.I.P. Bert .

GMOwl72
RIP Albert. Used to coach the Middlewood Rovers (swfc junior team) out of the training ground that included Newsome, Wetherall and Hyde and a few others of us that never made it. Used to work us hard in line with the Wilkinson ethos.

darra
Used to go to his circuit training sessions in the gym under the North around 1984 on a Monday night iirc. Beast of a session but great value for a quid.

Ronnie Starling
RIP. When we did work at Hillsborough you used to see him making the apprentices sprint up the Kop then back down the otherside.
