Never been a football fan....

Recommended Posts

I would happily sit in a bathfull of sh *t..on Penistone rd if Wednesday could win the play offs...

I would happily not go...If you could guarantee me a win...

Whats it all about....

I';m not a football fan am I?...I'm a Wednesday fan...its f.ookin' madness...

I started going to Hillsborough when I was 6....that was 52 years ago...

I reckon it was the 70's that did for me...Years of dross and losing, and sinking down into the depths...and I became used to it...I could cope with it...and I accepted it.

Then all of a sudden we started doin' daft things that gave you hope....Promotion, Win a cup...fleeting bits of sunlight through clouds of despondency.

So now...When we lose..I can simply shrug me shoulders and accept it...Thats the 70's..

When we f.ookin' win owt..or look like winning owt..Me lip wobbles...me eyes fill up...and I'm like a cross between Quentin Crisp and Scarlett O Hara

and here we go again...

I'm nervous already....I dunno which shirt to wear...I can't remember whether i actually stepped over the pavement cracks or on them last time we won ....I dunno whether i said "Good mornin' " to Magpies...or just said "ooh its a Magpie"...Under ladders..round ladders..shake off the f.ooker who's actually up the ladder...Sacrifice me Son.....(have to be post match/.....I'm sitting with the f.ooker)

So here we go again...

You can't utilise black humour anymore, cos we've all become expectant again...

Love Wednesday...Hate f.ookin' football

It's not about winning, it's about taking part.

If Wednesday lose to Brighton on Friday, I'm sure everyone of our fans will congratulate Brighton, wish them luck should they make Wembley and doff our caps to them.

That's how a sporting contest works, isn't it?   No need for despondency at all.

Some strange people in Lincolnshire in't there.

Agree that after this season's performances there is certainly no need for despondency.

Rest of the post is absolute B0LL0X !! :tango:

It's a good hypothetical that, if you could guarantee a win in the playoffs but you could never watch the games, would you take it? If you don't you could still win but if you took the deal it would guarantee a win for everyone else to enjoy.

I'd take that deal if it only meant the two legged semis (which I hate). I watch in Aus online so it tends to freeze at the wrong point so I often get the score from OT as I refresh Bein Sports. Wouldn't want to miss the final though.

Also from Woodseats by the way.
