Im delighted how the season has gone, but.....

Recommended Posts

Its been a great season, I've not seen football like this at Hillsborough for years, we are defo heading into the right direction. But are fans getting a little carried away? We are very likely to play Boro in the playoffs, they are the best side we played at home this season, they hammered us (we got a goal back, and they scored again and took control)

We played em away and should have been 2 or 3-0 down at half time, we gave em a run in the second half when Forestieri came on, but given what we've seen, are we good enough to beat them over two legs? (take your owls tinted specs off lads) i hope I'm wrong, i really do, but we've yet to beat any side above us this season. Can we really do it?

They played us early in the season where our set up was completely different. We came at them in the 2nd half, went for the win and got sucker punched.

We played them at their place and didn't play full strength.

Play offs are like the cup. Anything can happen on the night. We're more than capable of beating Boro and we're also capable of going down without a whimper.

No expectations. Just high hopes.

What FlyingOwl said.

From what I've seen I don't think anyone's getting massively carried away. Mostly people are savouring the moment which is fair enough and I think we have every right to be optimistic. I wouldn't want to play us and anything can happen in the playoff's, on that basis I'd say our chances are as good as any.

The last line perfectly sums it up. We have a 1 in 4 chance of success and therefore a 3 in 4 chance of failure.

we get at the very least another full house at s6 with a 1 in 2 chance of a trip to Wembley. Whilst Cardiff fans are now booking tor a wet weeks holiday in Anglesey lol

Enjoy the ride

I wouldn't mind a crack at Middlesbrough, the first time we played them the players didn't know each other's names yet and the second time we played a weakened team having played 48hrs before and they had been off for 9 days.

I think they'll underestimate us as they're yet to play us at full strength, add that to the disappointment of missing out on the automatic places and I think they're there for the taking.

Middlesborough won't be over thrilled if they have to play us because they will know we have the players to beat them.

The early goal at their place set us back but we finished the stronger side. Ayala was outstanding for them - hope he picks up a niggle and misses out if we play them.

Just a point lads, but why are you going to be playing us in the playoffs. Whatever happens tonight there will at worst be a 2 point gap with three to play for. As the yanks say we have home field advantage and we demolished them at their place. So by my reconning you have at least a 50 50 chance of playing brighton.

Just saying like.

past results go out of the window now,

these play off games are paramount to cup games and the last time we played a north east team we ran out winners and achieved promotion  did we not .We as a side are as good as anyone challenging for the coveted spot and on our day we can turn any of them over ,and we have a secret weapon in Bully the man who has been there and got the T shirt ,So worry not my friends we are good enough to take this to the wire and lift the honours at wembley  we have earned the right to compete and with Carlos at the helm and this team compete we will ,We are the dark horses we are expected to lose but sometimes the underdogs suprise the most bias and take the prize , there are no worries from me and no blue and white tinted specks no one thought we would be in this position come the end of the season so lets enjoy what we have /where we are and dream of the chance that we have been offered (LET THE OTHERS WORRY ABOUT US ) because pound to a penny they will be doing ,

The table doesn't lie. I don't think any of my mates are assuming anything because any fair minded assessment of the Championship would agree that Burnley Boro and Brighton have been that bit more consistent.

Personally none of them are that scary, but it is looking like Brighton or Boro and while I prefer the latter as a club I do think Mr Krankor has got the wild eyed look of the stressed. Since we owe Brighton one for past semi final crimes I would rather have a pop at busting their balloon.

The top 5 all had a realistic expectation of AUTOMATIC promotion, they have all pushed, and some still pushing for it. Those we may play have underachieved and must be disappointed. We have achieved the very best we could have expected. I think we are in a great position mentally and physically.

I dont think its certain to be playing Middlesborough. Boro v Brighton is a huge game and it can go either way. If brighton win tonight they just have to not lose. Whoever we get it will be a difficult 180 minutes. Im hoping, if we dont manage to get 5th, that whoever is in 3rd has a huge come down from the disappointment of not getting automatics

There is zero pressure on Wednesday as we are the underdogs and Chansiri's long term plan was for promotion next year.

There's way more pressure on Derby because they spent so much money and on Middlesbrough because they may well miss out on automatic and their fans are anxious to get promoted. Brighton is the team is much rather avoid. Whatever happens, this is a massive bonus and I'm proud of the club from top to bottom.
