Is George Hirst ready to play a part yet?

Recommended Posts

I imagine that most who want him on the bench haven't seen much of our development team. They're miles away from the quality needed to play in our first team. Not because they're too young, but because they simply aren't good enough yet.

It's only because of his name that there's such a fuss being kicked up. If he's good enough he'll play for us or professionally eventually but as he's only just turned 17 he's only a young lad. Give him time and space. Expectations will be high for him.

Hooper is playing with a face like a slapped arse at the moment.  Why not throw Hirst on for the last 20 minutes of the next 4 games?   He could do no wrong, if he got a goal it would do his confidence no end of good.

Why do all the other clubs blood their 17/18 year olds, yet ours are "never ready"?

Well he could do wrong, he could play terribly-which wouldn't be good for his development.

Needs to play mens football at league 2 level first. See how he copes.

Then league 1...and so on.

He's only ever played in kids teams hasn't he? U21s is the highest level he's played at.

Let's not forget, he's doesn't always start for our U 21s

Or he could learn a lot and have his feet put firmly back on the ground, as others have said, If he's good enough, he's man enough...

Depends wether he wants to live in his dad's shadow or forge his own, my guess it will be the latter, most lads want to do better than their dads...

Who get's in, infront of him ?

A look on the official site shows he's started 1 out of the last 4 games, the rest he has appeared as a sub for the last 10/20 minutes

That's fine, stat's are easy to quote without the full facts, based on that if it was his last game that he started you could say he's making great strides forward and should soon be in the first team, if he started 4 games ago and has then only had bit parts that would suggest he's miles away...

If we qualify for the play offs with a game (or two hopefully) to go, he (and any other potentials) should get a place on the first team bench and potential starts...

No means no.

People like you belong in jail...

How do you know I'm not ?

lol
