A 25 Years Ago Today Rumbelows Cup Photo Celebration

Recommended Posts

Brilliant memories there Dunsby .

I still have my ticket stub and program from the day safely tucked away , plus all the cutting and photos from the Star ,and the cup winning special they did.

Fantastic day , and at least i can say ive seen Wednesday win a trophy in my lifetime.

As someone who missed it. I would love to see some pictures of the day. People drinking in the streets. Loads of blue and white every where. Peoples pictures outside Wembley etc. Service stations awash with Wednesdayites. Anyone got any they can upload?

Edit: missed due to being a baby.

I have an empty Stones beer bottle which commemorates that day in my office

Can't for the life of me remember but can anyone throw some light on why Pressman didn't play in goal that day.

Because Chris Turner had played the previous 25 games on the trot and was first choice goalkeeper at the time.

I think Pressman tells a story that Big Ron told him at the time that his attitude stank and he needed to sort himself out.

The club produced a video review - was it called It's a kind of Magic? - showed the team bus with Comedian Stan Boardman on board and lots of great footage of Wednesday fans outside Wembley.
