Quite an interesting statistic

Recommended Posts

That we have managed to win just 5 games more than Rotherham.

They have had a large number of losses - but still, just goes to show every team has it in them to beat any other team.

I'm actually quite surprised at the number of draws we have had this season, especially given the brand of football we play and Carlos' philosophy.

There's pretty fine margins in this league. The fact we haven't lost many is why we are in the top 6 and it's the hardest part of the 46 game slog. People say we are inconsistent but even teams like Middlesbrough and Burnley have failed to win in 15-20 of their games, it's the nature of the league. I'd say we have been pretty consistent at not losing games.

It is interesting and slightly quashes the notion that 'it's draws that kill you'. No, it's getting humped 5-0, giving the opposition 3 points and +5 goal difference to bolster their league position relative to yours that kills you.

You'll be delighted about him getting an extended contract then...or not lol

Undoubtedly this has been the most consistent season since we left the Prem (discounting seasons of consistent rubbish). You do not make it into the top 6 without consistency.

5 games is 15 points...that's a lot in any league especially the championship!!

Considering it took us 10 games to get "warmed up" I think the stat is a little misleading.

Only Brighton and Burnley have lost fewer games than us. Very hard to beat this season.

That's a interesting and exciting stat, mate. The top sides in any League, need to be solid and hard to beat, even when they aren't at their best. Because unless u are in a one or two team League, everyone goes through rough patches, because the season is a marathon and a slog. If you can slog it out and still pick up points when not at your best, then its the sign of a top 2, 6 or 10 side. Of course you have to mix that with home and away wins, a strong squad, goals throughout the team, solidity and consistency.

We're nearly there, it will be a bonus if we remain in the play offs but no matter what happens, the future is promising with Chansiri, Carlos and with this squad. If we don't go up this season, I can see us getting even more stronger and even more solid and consistent, eventually we'll go up sooner or later in the near future.

Way more draws in the Championship this season than any other division. Really tight division this year.

Even I am not quite sad enough to count them, but from a glance its obvious.

I think a few of our draws were poor outcomes, such as QPR and Ipswich, but many others, especially aways, were really decent results and have helped us open and maintain this gap.
