Derby a massive game

Recommended Posts

Bare with me... If we harbour any genuine play off ambitions then we must assume a victory on Tuesday. With that i think we will be almost there as regards top six. Then Derby. Although putting up some really solid performances against top 6 we are yet to win and so a victory at Derby would really help give some confidence prior to the play offs. Obviously anything can happen and i hope it will but will be exciting stuff! UTO

The Derby game is almost a mirror image of the match at Blackbrun 1980. The penultimate away game of the season, promotion rival and thousands of Owls fans descending on the town. If we can replicate the performance and result then it will be Hi Ho all the way. BTW the Blackburn game still ranks as one of the best away days ever.

Take every game as it comes now. Got 4 cup finals ahead.

We can take the pressure off getting a win away to Derby if we can beat MK Dons. Fail to beat MK and we pile the pressure on ourselves.

Unless Cardiff copy all of our results again of course.

Im writing the Derby game off. We never beat Derby, especially away. I always see them as our bogey team. I know we have thrown the form book out of the window with regards to our other bogey teams, Wolves, Forest etc, but I still see Derby as THAT team we never bloody beat.

For me, a win Tuesday is an absolute must. But we cant just expect to turn up and we've won. If we win, then we can go into the Derby game not really needing to win.

I really, really dont want to be going into the last two games needing something. We scuppered Cardiffs chances of the play offs one year, and Wolves the other year, so Im certain they will be out to get us.

Granted each game is massive now, but for me MK Dons is the bigger of the next two

If Cardiff fail to win on Tuesday and Derby avoid defeat, then that's Derby confirmed in the play-offs. I think.

they may well rest a few when they play against us and not risk any injuries.

Could be a good fixture for us if they're already there.
