Holmowl
Think back to December. Two-nil down with 60 minutes gone. We would be only two points clear without that comeback. Draws v Blackburn, Brighton, Burnley, Reading etc, look very welcome points now.

TrickyTrev
I think come the end of the season, both Wednesday and Cardiff fans could well be looking back at that game as a defining moment for very different reasons.

Burnley's results against the bottom third of the division are only two dropped points short of perfect: 15 played; 14 wins, 1 draw. Our results against the bottom third aren't terrible: 15 played; 10 wins, 1 draw, 4 defeats - but we've dropped 12 more points against those same teams than what Burnley have, and it's precisely 12 points that currently separate us from Burnley in the table. That's the difference between us and Burnley; practically impeccable against the division's poorer sides. Against the middle and top third teams, we have the same points haul. I think it's fair to say Carlos has underestimated some of the "lesser" teams in this division.

Which is the sign of a team that has been together for a while...we've been together 9 months the majority of our players didn't even know each other...this team will be better the longer it's together

Valid and interesting points to be fair, but I wouldn't look at those games as the main area we dropped points, just because those teams are lower in the table and we "should" beat them I'd prefer to judge each game on its merit, for example against Hull at home we were in charge and should have had them buried before half time, we failed to get a 2nd goal and ended up sharing the points, whereas against Charlton and Bristol away we were never in either game Dropped points are dropped points, regardless of who they're against. That's the table's view on points, but if we markedly under-perform in a game - any game - then I would expect there to be some focus upon why. CC took heart despite losing 3-1 to Burnley, but had no excuses (and later even accepted 'blame' for not resting more players) when we lost 3-1 to Charlton. Performances relative to the perceived quality of the opposition matter. It's not unreasonable to ask are the team taking certain games more lightly than others, especially so when a rival's results indicate they set about their games against the lesser teams well enough to avoid dropping points, despite taking the same points as us from games against the top and middle third of the division. And I think reading were up near the top when we played them Reading were midtable when we played them away. We played them at home in the third game of the season, I don't think the league table is an especially reliable yardstick after just 2 games. Earlsfieldowl
And dodgy decisions like at QPR! We missed a pen - if that had gone it we'd have had 3 points and referee decisions on the night wouldn't have been an issue. Those 2 points would have beeen most welcome

Flat Owl
Two factors IMO Our season effectively started at the end of the first international break - the loss away to Burnley was effectively with a new side - we have, apart from the occasional loss in concentration, improved from there. Our ability to grind out a result away against the teams who work hard but do not have stand out quality - allowing them something to hold on to. Lee Johnson understood this last weekend and realized we are vulnerable early doors and if they could get more than two, our record of coming back when losing would not be enough. All in all, pretty good considering.
