FA ask for clarification re: 6 loanees

Recommended Posts

You may be right.

Just remember the multiple times we've had to change the team sheet this season due to injury, RS have spoken about the opposition manager having to give the nod that the team sheet can be changed so we don't have to use a sub before the game.

I've heard them (RS) say that too but it doesn't mention needing the opposition manager's 'permission' in the Football League's regulations.

33.6    Replacement of injured Players prior to kick-off. Should any nominated Player or substitute sustain an injury or become otherwise incapacitated after the submission of the Team Sheet to the Referee and before the kick-off, he may be replaced; the Referee shall be informed. Should there be any other extenuating circumstances which require a nominated Player or substitute to be replaced during the aforementioned period, the Referee shall allow such replacement and report the full circumstances to The League. The League shall then initiate any inquiries it may deem fit so as to satisfy itself as to the bona fide nature of the replacement.

Football League: "Hello. It this Sheffield Wednesday?"

Sheffield Wednesday: "Yes"

Football League: "Could you please explain why there were 6 loans named in the original matchday squad which was then reduced to 5?"

Sheffield Wednesday: "Well what happened is there were 6 loans named in the original matchday squad and this was then reduced to 5?"

If it was the other way round we'd be asking why the FL haven't asked Bristol for an explanation

We will explain and either get a warning or a small fine. No big drama

I don't think it would have crossed my mind tbh.

Why would we get a fine for nearly doing something wrong?

Wonder what would have happened if this had been a play-off final scenario that wasn't rectified within the time period.

Would we have had to forfeit the match and the £100 million plus that went with it?

Seriously, this sort of wee wee tail-up is totally unacceptable and could be very, very costly. As it is it's totally embarrassing!

What's is our actual excuse? Is it that whoever typed out our team sheet put Bennett down instead of Hunt by human error?

maybe, just maybe it was the knock-on effect from whatever did/didn't happen between players prior to kick off???

just supposing hooper WAS down to start, then the rumoured incident took place causing hooper to be withdrawn and nuihu  promoted from the bench. another sub is hurridly scribbled down - WITHOUT the time for forethought about the loanee situation ............

just a thought

If we had presented a valid team sheet an hour before the game then someone got injured in warm up so we asked to replace the player before the match. Fine all tickety boo. Now if this change bumped the number of loanees up to 6, you can bet your bum they would penalise us for it and not accept the teamsheet as it was an hour before the game.

So in the reverse scenario they can't do too much. Can they?
