Pay On The Day Ticket Prices

Recommended Posts

Now that the Cardiff ticket prices have been announced, we can see the full picture of this season's pay on the day ticket prices...

It's fair to say that whilst most season ticket holders seem happy with the prices for next season, those fans for whom a season ticket isn't an option are understandably apprehensive about what next season's pay on the day prices could hold in store after their experiences this season.

Looking at the figures, it quickly becomes clear that a membership is a must for those who can attend six or more matches (I factored in the cost of membership when calculating the relevant averages, by the way), as the prices without have been eye-watering at times: Charlton has been the only Saturday kickoff that you could get into for less than £30 on the gate.

Again, whereas the increases on last season's prices are between 30% and 40% without a membership, the increase is in the range of 21% to 30% with membership (although this obviously increases the fewer games that are attended).

It will be interesting to see how the club pitch pay on the day prices next season; I'm not sure they can increase them beyond the current rates and still expect many people to pay them, to be honest.

One surprising quirk that cropped up, though: if you bought a Phase 3 season ticket for the South Stand, you'd have been better off buying a membership and paying on the gate for each individual game! The season ticket cost £760, whereas the total cost of the individual tickets plus membership would have been £747. Odd.

Interesting.

For a complete picture you now need Phase One, Two and three average prices. lol

Also, when looking at the average price for membership, the £30 needs factoring in.

Why would I need to factor in season ticket averages when discussing pay on the day prices? And the £30 membership was factored in to the relevant averages, as I said.

I'm getting the impression you didn't really read my post!

Nah, I didn't read it, too many words.

Regarding season tickets, I still think it would be interesting to compare to POTG.

You have shown POTG prices going up by 30% but not why.

I suspect ohase three season tickets in comparison to the price of membership entry will explain a lot.

EDIT:- You covered that in your last paragraph lol

I think the Phase three prices show why the POTG couldn't realistically be any less.

Therefore, when predicting next season POTG prices, the first real clue will be the next Ohase if season ticket prices.

F*#king phases and categories.

The average cost of a match with a Phase 3 season ticket has been:

South - £33.04

Kop - £25.65

I've said it before and will say it again:

The only thing more disgusting than the ticket prices, are the very vocal apologists who have tried to defend/deflect reasonable criticisms of the club's laughable pricing structure.

From a 15/16 Early Bird season ticket holder (and an Advance Saver season ticket holder too).

Yeah, its people like you who are spreading those kind of lies.

To suggest that people WANT the high prices and WANT fans to be out-priced.

A total fallacy, but it helps you and your agenda.

Political, not financial.

I agree, especially when they try to label those who question the unreasonable prices as 'moaners' and try to suggestthey are not 'real' fans.
