Does being a Wednesdayite make you negative? ?

Recommended Posts

Serious question? The last 15 years of watching swfc have be very average, do you that that is effecting your judgement. I certainly have to think twice when considering possible scores for up coming games. I always ask people what they think score will be on match day. Older fans always seem to remember the twists in games from the past, does this explain their negativity? Young supporters are generally more positive is their lack of experience the reason.

This is light hearted!!

Yes. I was fully expecting a Blackburn equaliser from us making a mess of it, (in reality they never really got close). I fear the Bristol and MK Games because they will be up for it needing points (what we don't?)

It's something that'll take a while to dissipate

From the mid 2000's take a midfield of:

Small

Lekaj

Boden

Lunt

With options of FJ9 and Clarke up top.

Chuck in the legendary corner taking skills of Potter...

...the guile and craft of JOC's harrying of opponents and you have your answer from me.

Carlos always talks about energy and being positive.

We can provide positive energy before the games, singing players names etc

At Notts County away when we won 2-1, a guy sang on his own at Ryan Lowe all the way through the warm up.

He went on to score the first goalpost-15396-0-57327600-1460048031.png

I think most clubs will have the same worries when they're winning by an odd goal, I must admit I always think we're going to draw or lose when we're under pressure.

This season has definitely been a nice change when you are starting to expect wins.

Wednesday fans are positive.

1991, all Wednesday fans expected us to beat Man Utd.

93' we all expected to beat Arsenal.

2005, we all knew we'd win the play offs.

2012, we knew we'd go up - even if in the play offs.

2016 - we all go into the play offs feeling like we'd have a chance.

Compare that to Bramall Lane where they already think they're beat before every big match - I know which is rather have.

We've spent what amounts to an entire "generation" watching the likes of Middlesbrough, Bolton, Charlton, Fulham, Birmingham, Portsmouth, West Brom, Wigan, Reading, Sunderland, Derby, Hull, Wolves, Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, QPR, Cardiff, Swansea (BREATH) and others, tooling about in the top flight.

Some of them have even managed to build a side, get promoted, survive a season or 3, get relegated, rebuild and get promoted again.

I'm not in the slightest bit surprised we are one of the more disillusioned "big city" clubs/sets of fans across the country.

Our hopes have been dashed time and time again, and expectations are generally that it will "all go wrong".

Kids born as far back as 1995/1996 probably don't remember (nor have seen us play) top flight football, that's kids born TWENTY years ago!

However, there is a shift in the force occurring.

Meanwhile, these aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along.
