The Owls vs Blackburn Rovers. Official Matchday Thread

Recommended Posts

Going off the stats alone for this season for both us and them and also previous meetings it all points to a Wednesday win, however like many have said I think this will be a tough game for us. Blackburn have nothing to play for and have a few key players missing which in my opinion means they will come with no desire to attack and will just sit and ask us to break them down from open play. They will look to load the box at set pieces and if they can nick something they will.

Fortunately for us they look vulnerable in the full back positions which has been a major source of joy for us this season, we all know what Spurr is about and can be got at, and although Marshall was adept at tracking back from a more advanced position he definitely isn't a natural full back. It may seem an obvious point but tonight there is a big onus on forestieri to unlock the door with the absence of Bannan, away from home we can play a less out and out attack minded midfielder in terms of Lopez as naturally he does just like to keep the ball moving and space opens up as the opposition look to force the issue. At home against, this style of opponent forcing the issue is key and if not we could be in for a similar evening to the one against reading earlier in the season.

An early goal would do wonders for us tonight.  2-0 owls win.

Afternoon all. Lucky pants on.

Sunday afternoon I had the shattering news that I lost my Grandad.

Massive United fan but still loved me enough to take me on a ground tour of Hillsborough a few years back and came to Hillsborough with me a fair few times when I was a kid as well.

Flying out to Spain tomorrow and back for Saturday. Hopeful of 3 points either side of that but for the first time in a long time, football doesn't seem too important.

Bit of a weird post, I know. Just feel that by verbalising it, I'll feel better. Thanks all. Aussie x

sorry to hear that Aussie. I hope it does help.

After watching Wednesday for too many years I care to remember we always lose the so called 'dead certs'. Rotherham at home and Charlton away or just two this season that spring to mind.

Hopefully not tonight.

If you class 'dead certs' as bottom 6 then there is a slight flaw in your theory is that we haven't lost all the dead certs this season...

Beat Bolton at home - Tuesday night too.

Beat Charlton at home.

Lost to MK away.

Beat Fulham home AND away.

Beat Rotherham away, lost at home.

Beat Bristol City at home.

Beat Udd's home AND away.

Some folk need to be more positive.

2-0 win tonight.
