FlyingOwl
Lucas Joao has been selected for the Portugal Under-21s in a preparation game for the Olympic Games to be held in Rio this summer.Portugal will face Mexico on 28 March at the Estádio João Paulo II, Angra do HeroÃsmo, Azores. The Wednesday striker has proved a popular performer at Hillsborough since signing from Portuguese outfit Nacional in July 2015. Joao has scored key goals against the likes of Brentford, Huddersfield and Arsenal, posting his maiden international call along the way. Would love it if he got a call to the Olympics this summer! FlyingOwl
Hmmmm. Indeed. If he was absolutely poo poo it wouldn't even be this painful to watch him. He'd just be poo poo. And I'd live with it. But he's so bloody talented that I'm incredibly frustrated when he tries to do too much. Which is 90% of the time. I'm not used to having promising players with the world at their feet, so I need to develop patience when watching Joao. In fact. The flack Joao gets, from me included, reminds me of Brunt at times. 100%
joelswfc
Incredible to have someone as talented as Joao at this club. So much potential. He will have a great career, and hopefully with us. Just need to handle him in the right way which is what Carlos is doing after the incredible start he had. Congratulations on the call up Lucas Joao. Would be great to see him at the Olympics. Captain Sl-OWL-ly
Personally I hope he doesn't get picked, we don't need the money (i.e. His value going up) but more importantly we don't want him getting injured...
Plonk
Great that our players are getting called up. Good indication of the quality of squad being built

He needs to be stronger but again that will come
asteener1867
Joao will get better.....I reckon its just decision making with him at the minute...He goes round 3 players.,..then fancies beating the 4th... He's a work in progress.................................
Daavies;
He's got all the attributes to be a top player. But so have many other young players at his age who's talent never lived up the hype. Let's hope with the right coaching and strong mentality of Joao he develops well.

Wednesday_Jack
Arnt the under 21's allowed 2 "senior" players in the squad? Didn't James Milner player for the U21's until he was 34 or summat??

Last_Great_Hope
How has he been selected for the under 21s?! Its based on your age at a certain point in the year. If you are 21 or under at that point, you can play for the entire upcoming season even if you go over the age limit.
