Praise from other clubs

Some good words about Wednesday from LTLF Forest website..

"Wednesday were great to watch. The complete anithesis of Freedman's Forest, full of invention, intent and desire."

"You're right. A lovely, fluid, midfield performance won them the game.

Every time we had the ball, they had 2, 3 or 4 players pressing us. Every time they had the ball, they had 2 or 3 options for a pass.

Absolutely the opposite of what Forest do.

That's not just players.

It's tactics and positioning and how you send out your team.

I'd say Wednesday have been the most entertaining side I've seen this season.

Yes they've spent big on good forwards but with the chances they create, their forward players have it on a plate.

Compare that with the paucity of chances we serve up."

"Their midfield was top drawer.

I think Kieran Lee's midfield perfomance today was the best ive seen all season."

I wished I had gone today, I live in Hucknall so this result is a bit sweeter personally, but didn't have enough loyalty points to get a ticket.

The thing is, our landlord who's a Forest ST holder rang up this morning asking if I was going and there was a spare ticket going if I didn't already have one.

Unfortunately I'd made other plans so had to decline, although when Matias made it 3-0 it would have most likely made my family homeless tonight!

Just shows how far we have come in a short space of time.

This time last year none of us would ever have imagined we would have players like Hooper, Forrestieri , McGeady and Bannan in our team.

Saw this comment on a Forest forum;

"Whoever is in charge next year please sign some big no nonsense midfielder who takes no prisons we are just to light weight - grant osborn vaughan are good players but when they play all together, we just get out jumped, out muscled, and we get bullied to much by the bigger side in this league"

So, their three centre midfielders got out jumped, out muscled and bullied by Bannan and Lee?

I quite like playing Forest, one of the games I look forward to as they're a proper club with a great history.

I also like playing Forest when we win 3-nil! (always remember as a youngster we got stuffed something like 7 - 0 by them, during the Chris Woods in goal era I think)

This is why I don't understand the argument of our midfielders getting bullied. Bannan and Lee make up for their lack in height with intent and desire.

'I have to say as well that Sheff Wed were particularly impressive too. They pressed and pressured very quickly, nobody had time on the ball and they knocked it about really well, putting some really impressive moves together when they got the ball and tried to move forward. Quick, precise and to feet.. Those moments are exactly what I would like to see us try to do a lot more.'

We're streets ahead of Forest at the minute, but lets not get carried away.  We comfortably beat sides who allow us time and space on the ball, far tougher games coming up, next week being one of them.  Good to back on track but we've go to find answers for the likes of Charlton, MK Dons, Ipswich who will gives us far less space and time on the ball.
