Guest Ferkorf
I enjoy reading the different opinions on here and its good for a giggle. I can't get my head around how stuck up some people are though. Some people make out like they are kings living amongst peasants No wonder you live in fear of people who swear

It's a choice thing. Similar to growing up or choosing not to.
billyblack
Ha..no place in football for that? Soz, but it's the only place and has been since Smoking used to be cool as well. It was probably good for you once even. Times change. Can people or will they still be uneducated irresponsible Jeremy Kyle wannabe headliners? Pathetic and sad. 1867Heaven
Sorry if it upsets you,1867, but if you read my post properly, you'll see that it wasn't the shenanigans at the Leppings Lane, though I thoroughly abhor these, that I wasn't complaining about. It was the behaviour of one of our own fans in particular DURING the game. Unfortunately, the totally uneducated slob was jumping up and down, running along the level between the lower and upper parts of the stands and uttering nothing but profanities at all and sundry, Wed.Players, the Officials, Neil Warnock being just some of his targets. His view of the game must have come from small snatches he had seen. I wouldn't mind, but HE COULDN'T EVEN SWEAR PROPERLY. I was brought up in the hard school of Coal Mining, and learned to swear with the best - when at work!! To hear this sort of rabid ranting at a football match makes me rather disgusted that I claim the title 'ex-Working Man'-I am now retired- but to have to listen to this while trying to enjoy a Football Match, especially my beloved Wednesday, and I have watched them for nigh on 70 years, completely spoils my enjoyment. The reason I tend to avoid Local Derbys is simply because this thing tends to happen when the 'part-timers', as this gentleman was, seem to proliferate. I am sure that I am not alone. One gentleman who sits with me regularly had brought his daughter along as a Birthday treat, and was most uncomfortable. This sort of behaviour will tend to loose us fans, not increase our fan base, and has already made me wonder whether I made the wrong decision in buying my 3-year ticket As for fighting outside the ground, when my Dad was alive he took me to many away games, when segregation was simply a word in the dictionary, and I can remember some damned good arguments with opposing supporters, but never saw fighting. If watching football causes fighting, maybe the time has come to stop football. Fair enough now explained in more detail but I still don't agree with avoiding local derbys just like I don't agree with stopping football because of fighting, it used to be a lot worse!! You should not avoid things because of the actions of others, not when you are right anyway.

If you could climb down off your high horse maybe you could vent your anger at SYP and Rotherham council...prob Sheff next. Who were the culprits, go tell em times change...and go watch Jeremy Kyle

Isn't it part of the steward's duties to escort people like this from the ground? After all, if he was running backwards and forward whilst shouting at all and sundry there shouldn't be any problem identifying the culprit. maidstoneowl
I can take swearing, one of my kids returned from their nursery aged 4, some time ago now, told my wife she was going to "wee wee all over her". But come on, chanting about stuff like Paedos. It's not good. How do those that take their young kids feel about that? What about the Rotherham fans who had their 5 / 6 / 7 year olds with them? Having to explain what was being chanted at them. Nope - it's not F'in on. I'd put money on there are plenty of Paedos skulking away in Sheffield, sadly. Salmonbones
I got caught up in this because I come out on Penistone road, then cut back up to Wisewood via Vere Road and back of the Leppings lane. 5 millers stuck me on my arse trying to get to the actual fighting, I was a by product that just got in their way. Then a policeman with a camera said something like - get up and on your way, whilst other coppers were stood watching waiting for the horses to go in, that didn't from what I could tell. I carried on, tried to stand where Grahams tyres was - which was out of the way to where the action was, and was promptly told i'd be arrested if I didn't move. You were in the wrong place/wrong time and could easily have ended up getting arrested. We need to raise the issues of SYP at the next fan's forum/steering group because this needs to stop. The simple thing to do was to hold RovRum in the Lepp for 20 minutes. There - job done. Simple as that. I sometimes think SYP want trouble, good chance to use the batons/CS spray. All that training must be pretty boring.
daveyboy66
I like winding opposition fans up, not sure how that makes me pathetic not all of us take a flask & blanket to matches & sit on south I'd probably be the same but I don't have my Advanced Pointing Badge
billyblack
No anger here, I'm not the one swearing and fighting because its good for a laugh. Plus, why do I need to vent at SYP or Rotherham Council, are they ALL to blame. Will a bunch of nobodies scrapping after 4 cans of Top Deck put all these things right. Seriously doubt it. However, if I'm proved wrong please enlighten me. No high horse either. Point us, some things wont change as people like to be that way, they like a good fight as they have other things missing in their life. I don't need to watch Jeremy Kyle either, I can see these people in the crowd on Match of the Day.

Eightace
Football always has been a tribal hate each other environment even though we are just people supporting our local team. Pigs this and pigs that even though some of our best mates support the other team. Times have changed but not completely. You know these things happen. It's not like it was though. Its mainly pointing and trying to shout and swear the loudest these days. When I was younger I had to run and dodge bricks at some away games. Some people are just over passionate and ferocious in their support for the club and not every one is the same or has the same values. Its not my scene but people are people innit. Inspector Lestrade
Not cool when there's kids and women about. Those paedo chants are completely out of order and people should be ashamed that were shouting it. That stuff that happened in Rotherham and around the country is an absolute fkng disgrace and needs to be dealt with. Making flippant joke chants to people from Rotherham which borders Sheffield is a disgrace. A lot of that shig went on/ goes on in Sheffield too. Definitely nowt to do with your average football fan imho True enough but people cope with bad situations by using black humour.
sweetsheri
why do people get so upset and fake their outrage on here Pointing will always go on at football..it's a reyt breeding ground for pointers all over the world... Rugby fans just don't know how to point.. I think the child abuse chants are unfortunate as it's making a mockery of a horrendous situation and can't be excused as banter.. Having said that the "youve only come to see the ballboys" chant made most people chuckle

poite
I like winding opposition fans up, not sure how that makes me pathetic not all of us take a flask & blanket to matches & sit on south Winding up opposition fans isn't pathetic, but the nature of the wind up is. There has to be a line somewhere ffs. Its disgraceful what has occurred in Rotherham, and fans of a football team from that area shouldn't have that used against them as 'a wind up'. I also disagree with Brighton fans been subjected to homosexual abuse, but hey, I suppose you think that's just a laugh as well. When Leeds fans were abusing Dave Jones did you think it was a fun wind up?
