alanharper
Even if it's true, if Chansiri had paid £5m for Vardy last summer this place would be full of people saying that he'd lost his marbles after Vardy's 5 goals in 37 games the previous season. He's had an incredible season but nobody would have predicted it. With hindsight it looks like a huge error, but there's no guarantee that he'd have had the same sort of season with us. matthefish2002
Vardy has not show any indication he was capable of this type of form before in his career. Just a wonderful one off season that happens to one unfashionable player about once every ten years. I think Clive Allen for Spurs and Guy Wittingham for Portsmouth had similar seasons once where everything they tried came off.
Guest wilyfox
I'm sure Chansiri will look back on it as one of those "if only" moments, but he can't guess them all right. Could have been great to bring him back, but I can understand why he didn't. Vardy's surge in form this season was unpredictable.

Have you not seen his goal record where ever he has played from Stocksbridge to Halifax to Fleetwood . I watched him on a regular basis up at Braken Moor ,and you could see then he had everything . This isnt the first season where he has scored goals like this / Ive see him score goals like the worldy last night many times at Stocksbridge . Stoop
No way would anyone have paid £5m for him last summer
SiJ
Not buying that at all. No disrespect to Vardy, but I don't believe for one minute he was on our radar in the summer, certainly at that price. Express have just cobbled together some bullsh*t, joys of hindsight story. BowOwl
Matias' goal was better. This, Vardy's was a great goal, but my god I'm already sick of the media frenzy around it.

latemodelchild
Is this the same vardy that doesn't want to play for Wednesday or a different one? He won't come to us.

Shezza
Come on, people. Of course it's rubbish. Vardy had just made his England debut. With the over-inflated prices for English players, of course they wouldn't sell and national team player for that price. No way.
Owlinmad
I'm pretty certain that Leicester turned down a much higher bid than that last summer from a Premier team.
