Official Deadline Day Thread

Recommended Posts

Bit of a let down of a day. Pleased with McGeady but was expecting another one or two. Hopefully a few irons in the fire for when the loan window opens though.

Today has been dull but Im glad our bosses understand its better to do business early in the window.

But also, we landed an experienced international and top level player in his prime. This time last year signing McGeady would have been like signing Ronaldo.

You don't know how much we paid for these players, individually or in total, yet you draw conclusions as to what we could have done with the money.

You include Melo in your repeated denigration of these players - a player who has been injured for most of the season and may well be out for the rest of the season.

What pleasure do you get from your ill-founded comments?

Why do find the need to suggest that the Club has mishandled its transfer dealings over the last 12 months when, on balance, its transfer business has been far better than we could have reasonably expected?

I've talked about 4 players out of about 20 odd we've signed in the last 12 months

Just making the point that the players signed last year for various reasons have been disastrous.

Overall we've done very well

Still a player or 2 short imo but my God we have some quality players in our squad. Hopefully we will add when the loan window opens to give us the best possible chance of getting in the top 6 come the end of the season.

Great strides forward for us, so much has happened in this past year and it's all been incredibly positive - our squad is ridiculously strengthened since the summer and with the duo of DC / CC, our players and of course us lot, we can do this and ALL pull in the same direction = play-offs first and winning those matches, to complete the meteoric rise back home.

UTO!

I wouldn't be so sure we'll add any more when the loan window opens. Carlos has said on several occasions, he doesn't believe in the emergency loan window, and doesn't see any value in it

Really hope we don't end up regretting it and just falling short of the play offs.
