Terrible performance. Offered nothing in the final third and all over the place at the back.

Price - 6 saved the initial penalty, steady game although certainly not a convincing keeper.

Palmer - 5 his delivery is dire, wasn't at fault for the goals though.

Sasso - 4 had a shocker, our CB pairing didn't know what day it was today. Simple balls over the top were causing us so many problems, no organisation. Gave the penalty away with a lazy challenge.

Turner - first game back but no better than sasso.

Bennett - 5.5 can't judge him on today's game as the whole team were crap. He seems comfortable on the ball but didn't help out the defence.

Sougou - 4 simply not good enough to play for Sheffield Wednesday, was bullied physically and didn't beat his man once.

Mcgugan - 6 think the free kick was meant to be a cross but was a great delivery that crept in. Second goal took a deflection but was a good strike. He pulled the strings and looked to be the only one trying to make things happen at times.

Semedo - 5 same old semedo, breaks up play well and put in some good tackles but looks completely lost when he crosses the half way line. Should have done better when everyone stood off him so he cantered forward and shot tamely.

Matias - 5.5 was frustrated today. Not sure what to make of him from today's performance. Seemed quite tidy at times, intricate passing and fast feet. Then went missing and was taken off, to his annoyance.

Hooper - 5 had a poor game, was given very little from midfield but his first touch was crap and slowed down moves or killed them completely.

Jaoa - 5 not half the player many people seem to think he is.

Wallace - gave their defence something to do with his delivery, looked much better than any of the starting 11 but didn't have long enough to make a major impact.

Other subs didn't have long enough to change a game that was already slipping away from us.

I'm hoping we can put that performance down to players being rusty, coming back from injury and not played together before. Let's put it behind us and hope the players rested are raring to go against burnley.

McGugan looked generally tidy, aside from the goals. Semedo played ok and even did a mazy dribble and almost scored from distance.

Nobody else stood out, at least not for the right reasons. Sougou and Joao in particular contributed absolutely nothing. Said before the game that we needed to start with Nuhiu, alongside either Hooper or Joao to do the donkey work (no pun intended!) but starting with two lightweight strikers doesnt work.

You'd think the fringe players would have been busting a gut to prove themselves, but no.

The whole tempo today was way too slow and with 9 changes we looked very disjointed.

Turner looked as though he'd been out for 9 years rather than weeks.

Bennett would be lightweight in women's football.

Sougou was dreadful

Hooper did his usual but without scoring

Joao I was disappointed with overall

Semedo and Mcgugan looked decent.

Matias showed encouraging signs

has to be McGugan for dragging us from the depths only for the clowns around him to give up and give away 3 really tame goals

Ratings:

Price - 7 - great save to keep the score in our favour and saved the penalty for nobody to switch on for the rebound

Palmer - 5 - Plenty of endeavour but his end delivery is appalling .. if he doesn't improve on that he'll be a back up and nothing more. Might be worth trying him in midfield where his energy and running might help and he won't have to put plenty of crosses in.

Turner - 4 - I appreciate he has just come back from injury, but this is a player that some want selected in front of Loovens. Some glaring mistakes today and at fault for the last goal with some poor defending and made a poor header in the build up for their penalty.

Sasso - 5 - Poor today. Bullied again and was poor when the ball was thrown in the air at him. I think he lacked a leader at the side of him telling him what to do. As i think most of the defence do when Loovens or a talker isn't playing.

Bennett - 5 Understand that this was his first game, but honestly, what did he offer that was different to Wiggins? Nothing more then a backup and when you have a player like Pudil playing, and someone comes in to replace him, the gulf in quality is there for all to see.

Sougou - 3 - Dogshit. Absolute dogshit. I've seen him a few times now and this guy offers us nothing out wide. I'm not sure what his proper position is. Is he a right winger or is he a striker? Regardless, from what i've seen he's really poor. i hope its a 1 year deal and we can offload for someone more productive on and off the ball!

Semedo - 6 - Average. Did a job, nearly scored, just needs to add more to his game and get the ball forward quicker and more often.

McGugan - 8 - 2 goals. 2nd was a belter. 3rd effort was arrowing in before a defender got in the way. Tidy in possession. Worked hardish.

Mattias - 6 - another that tried hard after a lengthy spell out injured.

Joao - 4 - Poor. Very poor. Has gone completely off the boil since letting a goal against Arsenal get to his head. Not the player we saw at the beginning of the season which is disappointing. Needs a rocket up his arse otherwise he'll be seen as a super sub and nothing more.

Hooper - 5 - Not the best of games from him. Don't think he had the right support around him. Tried his best though.

SUBS:

Wallace - 7 - Put more balls in to the box in 5 minutes, then Sougou did in the total time he played.

I know its the FA Cup and our second string but its quite disappointing to see some players not stepping up to the plate when given the chance. If we were to lose some key players, i'm not sure we have strength in depth in certain areas. Some real disappointing performances today.

Not going to slam the team selection - combination of factors were wrong today.

Having a few coming back from injury and bedding a new player in to the set up just didn't feel right from the off.

It was a bigger game for Shrewsbury than us and that also chips into the equation.

Disappointed we lost and didn't look good - hope Tuesday is a different story but we need to be on it to get anything out of the game against a team who are flying at the minute.

Mcgugan cost us the game backing out of that challenge that he was easy favourite to win that led to build up for their 3rd

Yep, never mind the ref bottling a blatant penalty, Palmer being absolutely nowhere, Bennett failing to make a challenge and letting the cross come over, Turner not making the header, or Price diving the wrong way - it was definitely two goal McGugan that cost us the game.
