Centre Half

Recommended Posts

For me we're still a top class centre half short (to partner Lee's). Sasso & Loovens are sound enough as back up, but we don't need to make do anymore. Infact I'd say Hutchinson is a better option than both of them

But not alongside Lees

Carlos said himself today that we won't be signing another centre-half this window.

If Turner and Lees are nearing fitness, we're covered. I guess he didn't speak specifically about targets, but is his stance still, just fine tuning?

Don't get the stick Loovens gets on here. He's a class act and he's our skipper. Oh, and he played a big part in breaking a club record last season for the most clean sheets recorded in a season. All of a sudden he's not good enough. What's up with people.

We're more than covered at centre half.

We have five centre halves, who are all very capable at Championship level. It's the position we're strongest in. I can't understand the clamour to bring in another.

Lees is one of the division's most consistent centre backs.

Loovens has been superb for us for the past three years, and continues to be a rock and a brilliant captain and leader.

Turner is, at the very least, a very reliable back-up, but looked a sound first choice earlier in the season, when fit.

Sasso, granted struggled against a direct, physical Bolton side, but has otherwise looked remarkably assured, confident with the ball at his feet and has slotted in seamlessly in a side that's maintained a 100% since his return from injury.

And Hutchinson, although it seems will only play at centre half when desperate, is actually, as reliable, if not more so, than most of the above.

If loovens is a weak link then im pretty pleased with the quality of the squad but i do feel he is prone to the odd error and is on the slow side so for me when fit turner and lees have to be our starting cb's

My thought's exactly.

Loovens was excellent last season and has been very good this season, despite playing with 4 different CB partners.

The Loovens & Lees partnership is superb.

We don't need a CB at all.

Carlos does right to ignore calls to strengthen in this area, in fact he needs to strengthen the one area where we have no cover, and that's Forestieri. If he's out we have no spark

Agreed, a loan move for a good, young player would be ideal I think.
