I don't think our players look for him. He just kind of drifts through the game as a separate entity

I would have thought 23/24 before he gets to where he will be. You peak earlier as a Redmond or an Owen but the drogbas of this world need to out power players. You bulk out about 23. Plus the experience side.

That is only a year away, I expect he's a few years from his full potential

Thought it was the wrong substitution, we weren't chasing the game and as such Joao struggled to have any influence.

Nuhiu as a lone striker with a packed midfield for the final ten minutes - but hey, we won! Not criticising the tactical change per se just reflecting on how it was almost unfair on Joao to be cast adrift somewhat.

I am impressed with CC's ethos on keeping a strong finishing 11 though. And Helan is under-rated in his impact as he contributes the defensive element mixed with his pace and fresh legs. Really like his runs from deep.

Joao was clearly brought on because there was space in behind to exploit, it gives the opponent something to think about when pushing men forward. I recall 3 or 4 times when he got on the end of balls in the channels which was a benefit. He also actually attempted getting up for his headers most of the time which was an improvement on his last time out!

Helen is a fantastic option when we are leading, he has been playing very well recently.

There was a chance to put Joao through like that towards the end of the game which was missed.

I think he was managed a bit badly after those goals against Huddersfield, he should have started at Blackburn and came off the bench and helped us get a point. After earning his first caps for Portugal too he's then on the bench for us...

I think he looks a bit low on confidence but he's got plenty of class and will come good again

Our good form and permanent signings could see a stabilisation of our first eleven. Pudil, Hunt look like pinning down the full-back slot and Wallace on the wing...obviously the next organic step would be if we signed Hooper.

One of the 'down-sides' to being on a good run is that youth and fringe players are often over-looked competitively.

Joao just needs to be patient, and prove what he brings different to Forestieri's creativity, Hooper's poaching and Nuhiu's strength.

Starting to think we don't need another striker because of the variety of options you outline.

Maybe a Nuhiu upgrade, more of a goal threat.
