shez owl
2 weeks to go in the window, we are in the top 6 for first time, injuries are biting but we are winning. Do we go for it or not? Decision time for Mr C? For me we HAVE to give it a go now.

gurujuan
Depends how near to clearing up, that injury list is. Keep hearing that players are on the way back, but don't see too much evidence of it Probably could do with two or three in
Simaniac Owl
Go for it. But in a sensible way. Sign Hooper for starters.
BarnOwl55
If we bring in a striker.........who do we drop? (assuming Hooper stays) If we bring in a midfielder..........who do we drop? If we bring in a defender...............who do we drop? There are maybe, just maybe, some possibilities in that third question but I say 'stick' and build with what we have. Not done too badly in 2016

Not done too badly in 2016 That's one way of looking at it, but it depends on how good the replacements are. If they are significantly better, anyone can be replaced

Not done too badly in 2016 If you go by today's performance then a comanding centre back to replace Loovens, and a creative wide player to replace Wallace when he's not "at it", and a top striker to start or bring on. It's more about replacing the likes of Sougou, Semedo and Nuhiu on the bench for me with some real top players
Guest ka58
Sign hooper. Get matias back fit. Sign an attacking midfielder with a decent scoring record (easier said than done). Got enough for play-offs
Cambs Owl
Being this close, we have to go for it - take your chances while you can.
Gazman
We need to sign Hooper but with Norwich nearing the drop with every game he may well go back now he's fit and scoring albeit in the champ
Swiss Toni
We sign Hooper again either permanently or on loan until the end of the season. We sign Pudil permanently. This means we should be fine up top and at LB and means we can look at bringing a quality loan player or two in seeing as we've freed up berths with the Hunt and Pudil captures. I still think a CB is a priority because we have leaked goals still of late. It's a long shot but what about Kevin Wimmer the CB at Tottenham? Not getting much game-time there and he's a full international.
jrh
I think we need a pact winger and another striker. If nando gets injured we will be struggling for goals.
steelcityowlsfan
I feel we now need to sign Hooper permanently. By extending the loan we are putting him in the shop window for others or risk him being recalled, should there be a clause in the deal.
Guest wilyfox
Buy Hooper, loan a winger (McGeady or equivalent).
WatfordOwl
If the money is available to bring Hooper in then we should do it. The guy's scored 6 in 12 for us and even at the £5m talked about for him when we originally took him on loan, it would prove to be money well spent. If Norwich want him out of the club then there will be a taker for him before the end of the January window and us having to start from scratch with another player which could cost us - he wants to stay so whether it's loan or permanent it needs to happen. With regards to anyone else coming in - not sure we need it. Matias coming back will give us another option on the wing - possibly need someone as cover or interchange for Wallace but that's about it. Unless someone else comes in for Alan Judge then I think we should sit tight - £8m is a lot for a player at this level and the form of our midfield doesn't merit that kind of money being splashed out. KernowOwl
Go for it. Even if we don't have the team to stay up, next season it's 120m for the team that finishes bottom.

My thoughts too, the money in the prem is obscene, we missed the boat when we got relegated in 2000, let's give it a go and get in on the gravy train! fatzooma
Sign Hooper, sign Pope, sign some players I haven't heard of but they must be good because they have a hundred page thread so must be ok!

Still got to be sensible though. We don't go up and could be hit with an FFP embargo next season or the one after. If we do go up and then come down we could have an embargo where we can't spend the 120 million we make.
