Player statues

Recommended Posts

Why don't we have one yet? It'd look very classy at the entrance to the South Stand/Grandstand and we have a countless number of players that'd be worthy of it. Heck we could even have more than one in different poses. Ron Springett and David Hirst (even though he's still with us) are an example of two legends that should have one.

It would look the very opposite of classy.  Some of the statues, I've seen look tacky.

We should think of something else to commemorate players.

I agree but if we had a good one maybe the 91 rumbelows final or something located on the bridge.

Would be better than the brick idea although I thought that was cool as well.

To be honest it really depends how its going to look- Its so hit and miss whether they look classy or tacky

Hirsty deserves it, but the 91 cup bit makes it look like we are stuck there clinging on to past accomplishments, shame really as it is a great pic/pose

No different to Liverpool or Man U fans going on about all their past accomplishments, should never be ashamed to be proud of our history.

True. After we win in next year and re-establish ourselves as a dominant force it wont matter anyway

Mentioned this before but can remember being at Wembley for an England game a few year back and stood outside next to the Bobby Moore statue when this kid asked his dad where the Carlton Plamer statue was and the dad said, one day son, one day.
