modboy
Always a bit sparse down both sides of the south and North stands. Was wondering if there should be the possibility of cheaper tickets in these seats? Same as grandstand/kop perhaps?
Guest Shythawk
Think I'm right in thinking that years ago, tickets were cheaper in the North and South stand wings.
Dave DJ
For certain games they give tickets to local scouts to sell at cheaper prices (£20) in the south at the end closest to the kop. The last one was Boxing Day.

My first few games around 1989 were in the South wings and it was cheaper

Other clubs do this but with the lack of real segregation in the sections it would be difficult to monitor. Other than for the well attended games what is there to stop fans buying a ticket for the side sections but taking up an empty, more expensive seat in the middle. HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
It used to be cheaper on the wings of the North It was also cheaper on the uncovered section of the South until they put the new roof on Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
For anyone who doesn't know The uncovered section on the South was every row below the directors box There is a tunnel (still there) that separated the upper and lower sections Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. Blueblood
For anyone who doesn't know The uncovered section on the South was every row below the directors box There is a tunnel (still there) that separated the upper and lower sections I started my wednesday supporting career in the south. Then as I got older and braver, moved to the uncovered lep end
Guest mkowl
For anyone who doesn't know The uncovered section on the South was every row below the directors box There is a tunnel (still there) that separated the upper and lower sections Yep back in 1980 when we won promotion me and the lads decided to go in the seats so we could invade the pitch at full time. Being new to this we ended up in the South upper not the uncovered section. The tunnel had a drop of about 15 foot. Some brave ones did it us more circumspect chaps might have gone out the ground and back in. More a pitch stroll than invasion. Remember sitting in the uncovered seats in the pouring rain for one of the post Oldham riot matches. That was a grim experience
