January Transfer Window Thread

Recommended Posts

Last time we were on SSN's Transfer Centre thingie was over supposedly being set to sign Blackman.

That didn't happen. And Sky and Garrido have had plenty wrong lately it seems.

We'll see what happens but for the price of Rhodes we could get Hooper, Judge and a midfield enforcer (such as Guedioura or Diagouraga)?

Washington is over-priced and is a lower league striker, Hooper makes more sense and would be the far better deal for his pedigree and goal scoring record.

Rhodes is way over-priced but scores bucket loads at this level, so does Hooper, bringing in someone like Judge would be the smarter move because of his assists as well as goals.

McCormack is over-priced and older than Rhodes, their records are fairly similar, as is Hooper's. Hooper offers far greater value for money and would be a bargain in comparison,

plus he fits in with how we play and we've had a glimpse of what he can do and what he can bring here, when he's fit and in form.

For what's out there and available, the smarter business would be to go Hooper and Judge instead of a Rhodes or McCormack type deal.

Rhodes or McCormack would be a statement of intent deal, a statement to the League, more or less. We need a couple of quality players, not one risky overpriced quality signing.

For what we need, for what's out there and for the prices. Hooper and Judge makes the most sense and would fit in best with how we play. I personally hope we get Hooper and Judge in, it makes the most sense.

QPR have reached agreement with Peterborough on a deal for striker Conor Washington, according to Sky sources.

Peterbro are a club we could learn a lot from when it comes to finding gems in non league and the lower pub league.

They constantly keep unearthing them then selling them on for millions.

Their scouting system must be the envy of many clubs.
