Patient zero
Someone posted a list of all the Hillsborough crowds above 45,000 the other week, thought I'd saved it somewhere but can't find it, sure the last 50,000+ was in the late Sixties. Guest Ash76
Yes you dreamt it. The capacity was under 50,000 through the the whole of the 80's. Maybe you're thinking of the Liverpool game that was about 49,500 in the mid 80's, that match was a total sell out and beat the Boxing Day attendance in 1979 by about 100 or so. Maybe i just got the figures wrong then, anyone ever remember a Green Un headline that carried the attendance. Maybe it was that game, 48246 according to the book on February 2nd 1985, 1-1. Ground capacity was 50174 in the early 80s and went up to around 55000 when the roof went on the kop. I never did understand how the wolves semi final attendance was higher than the capacity. Unless my panini sticker album was wrong.

ozowl02
To say we are a one and a half club city i don't think we do too bad tbh, and just think if the sty dwellers didn't exist our ground wouldn't cope with the amount of fans every other week Tbf, we pull 20k or over week in week out, look at clubs like Leeds who barely sell 10k for home games. Could be really worse off at this moment.

Buxtongent
Whatever the crowd, and I'm sure it will be a minimum of 28K, it would be as well to remember that, in addition to our game, there will be the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible which will attract some 10K.
