ANOTHER ticket price thread

Recommended Posts

Lets put it this way.......

Man U sell out

Arsenal sell out

Chelsea sell out

on and on the good teams sell out.

Why is this as these three ticket prices are expensive and they play more or the same amount of games.

The answer: because they are good.

Why do Crewe, Bury, Lincoln etc etc not sell out when their tickets are cheap..... because (no offence) they are poo.

Good football will bring fans and bad football will deter fans.

Chelsea are just above the relegation zone

Its a combination of quality of product, price, habit, socialising, convenience that makes people attend games. I suppose this is the same with anything in the entertainment industry.

fans didn't turn up last term 'cos it was dour...

this term, it's price...

whatever the reason for not turning up, once stopped from the habit, it can take some restarting...

the more open, attractive element of our game 'should' be attracting better attendances...

cc needs to keep up the good results...

any fall off in performances and results could see a reduction in the crowd during the run up to christmas...

the whole transformation thing, was a mega jump when proposed...

It is excuses.

You stated last season it was because it was rubbish, this year price.

There are only a few perfectly run teams but you are stating one way or another whether it be price or because we are rubbish or because someone needed to take the bins out there is always an excuse to deter fans.

That is basically what you have said which is why I have said regardless of price/ performance there is always an excuse. ..... where were the fans for the kids for a quid and mate for a tenner. The only argument you have is Reading was our biggest attendance well what about the other 10er game? The other 10er game was not our second highest was it so where were these fans?

They were making up another excuse like its a night game bla bla bla

I think not wanting to fork out £30+ for a seat behind the goal is a good enough excuse to me for people not wanting to go.

Many people have reached the limit of what they can afford or willing to pay for 90mins entertainment.

Like I've said all along, people have got to want to go in the first place.

On that basis they should have paid us to attend last year as it was not entertainment and cost me £27.

Most posters sound like we have lost half of our fanbase. We are 1,100 off of our average over the last 15 seasons. Not exactly a crisis is it and goes to show many people are willing to pay £30+ to still go.

Think we have not only lost 1,100 off last seasons average but also another 3-4,000 potential customers with the ridiculous prices.

We have got a team that is the most expensive and exciting in the last 15+ years and crowds have gone down.

Club also had a fair bit of bad publicity in the local media because of the prices and it even made the BBC sports website.

Think 99% of people agree that football is too expensive no matter who you support but nobody has really explained why Wednesday are more expensive then other similar clubs like Derby, Forest and Middlesbro?

Can agree with the most part but we have not been a club that has had 25k supporters at home consistently for a very long time regardless of the team. Look at our Brunt Whelan era when we finished 9th 23.6k average. That was our best season in terms of football since leaving premier league. Tickets were average price and attendances only started to pick up when we went on a great final run. Which means fans will only attend when the football is proven to be a lot better.
