Wallace

And some people have criticised this signing. Waste of a shirt apparently.

No pace either apparently but he tore open their full back in the first 5 minutes.

Proper winger who doesn't really on lightning pace alone. Just enough to get him by.

Wallace was magnificent today and MOM.

BUT why do you persist in saying he has pace? He is as slow as they come!

He uses trickery to get half a yard and cross it in.

wingers dont need to be lightening quick if the ball is played accurately to them. They can beat their man with a little trickery and craft . its the delivery that counts , not how fast they can cover 100 yards.

Where did I say wingers need to be fast?????

Strikers don't need to be quick either.

Neither do centre halves.

But then I wouldn't try and claim Nuhiu and Loivens had pace.

He's not quick in terms of Helan, Antonio, JJ.

But he's not Sedgwick/Teale slow either.

He's not much slower than Ben Marshall. Maybe just as quick.

He's got 'regular' pace.

He didn't just use trickery to get half a yard and cross it in today, though that is his party piece.

On around 5 minutes he completely bamboozled James Husband in our own half, played the ball around him & sprinted the length of the pitch.

He has enough pace to not be considered a slow winger.

Do you mean when he was 5 yards ahead of Husband through his skill and then Husband caught him easily?

I love Wallace but he is slow as they come. Their isn't a full back in the division he could outrun.

Luckily he has other talents.

His delivery from set pieces was absolutely fantastic today. Can't fault it.

My only (and it's very slight) criticism is he doesn't do enough from open play for my liking.

But he was outstanding today, really great balls into the box.

To be fair, Bannan and Lopez should have scored from his crosses in open play. Edited by HirstWhoScoredIt

Indeed.  But I still think he needs to a little more.  His defensive side is worryingly week and he seems to always have to cut back which can be a problem playing on the right.

But his set piece delivery was the best I've seen in a Wednesday shirt in a good long while!

Just not bothered...

Glad to hear this as I really thought he'd be a big player for us, just been a bit worried he might have lost his pace as he's gotten older. Don't think he played much football last season, so hopefully was just getting the cobwebs out.

Always had quality set-piece delivery and that will be really big for us this season.
