I'm not the biggest fan of the player ratings threads that pop up after every game, but how about next season we merge it with a Man of the Match thread? Have a poll after every game so we can vote for MOTM. Obviously just include players who actually played. People could then post their player ratings in the same thread. We could then have an Owlstalk player of the month or OT player of the season based on the player with the most votes. Could even go one step further and get the club to announce the winner at the end of the season ( bit of advertising for the site too). How about it? Guest domSWFC Posted August 8, 2015 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Westwood - 8 - Did everything required. Easy day for him really. Hunt - 10 - Man of the match. Ripped them apart all game. Solid at the back. Think two crosses got past him all game, and one was deflected to one of our players off him. Lees - 9 - Great header, calm, composed at the back. Good distribution, probably our most important player. Loovens - 7 - Solid, like always. But didn't help our style of play sometimes. All of our defenders had an easy short ball, all game, due to good movement in midfield but he opted to hoof it sometimes. But still, did everything required defensively. Helan - 7 - Solid, looked good on the attack on occasions, although a couple of times really lacked the killer pass, or the vision when he was breaking forward. Wallace - 8 - Class. Tracked back all game. Great delivery, linked up brilliantly with Hunt. Can only see that partnership getting better and better. Lopez - 7 - Great on the ball, and a lot stronger on the ball than I expected. Should have scored in the first half. Once he settles, he'll be one of the best in the league. Hutchinson - 7 - Great in the tackle. Cleaned everything up. He didn't even get booked! McGugan - 9 - What can you say? Saves a goal, with a goal line clearance, to go and score just seconds later. Game winner. Great vision. Great on the ball. Love him. Matias - 8 - Surprised me with his work ethic. In pre-season left Helan a bit vulnerable. But he put in a good shift to help him out today. He's got that something special, but just didn't always work out for him. Sure he's gonna have a great season. Nuhiu - 7 - Great in the first half. Good hold up play. Give the guy a break, he's a Wednesday player so get behind him. It's like people want him to fail. He loves this club, give him some love back.
