danblakemore
I love being an owl. Even when the future looks bright we always find a way to flip it up The ticket price are a shambles, I honestly can't believe anyone would agree with them
Bruce Edwards
I can afford the tickets and happy to support the club I've supported for all my life. Having said that there are fans who go whenever they can and they are just as good as me. I wouldn't mind one bit if they had a policy for those on low wages, those unable to find work or those with families that can prove they can't afford it, to pay from as little as 1/5th of what I pay just so they can enjoy the club we love. I'd love to see the ground with 25k-30k in each game and so would the players

Bruce Edwards
You won't get 25k-30k every week unless they're in the running for promotion, even if they charged a tenner. We've had kids for a quid, adults for £10 and it's not made that much difference
FreshOwl
Whether or not we are winning is irrelevant, when are people going to understand this. If they can't afford it they can't afford it. "Hi yes I'd like to purchase two tickets for the wolves game for the kop, don't mind where we sit" "no problem that'll be £78 please sir" "ok, well I've only got £50, get paid end of month but that's all going on utility bils food etc, but we're winning aren't we?" "Sir I'm afraid I'm gonna need the full amount or I can't sell you the tickets"
Guest s11 owl
The number of times I have seen such utter crap spouted such as the above and things such as.... ''real fans will find the money'' '' It will weed out the part timers'' '' you should have got a season ticket'' '' its what it costs if we want to get to the premier league'' ''its your own fault'' ''true fans will financially support the club'' And other similar absolute codsh1t really is depressing, as far as I am concerned anyone spouting such utter tw@tyness has never been a ''proper wednesdayite'' I don't care if you go every game (and probably just sit there and moan for 90 minutes no matter what and boos their own players), always buy a season ticket etc etc etc and think you are a bigger fan than someone who can't get to as many games for whatever reason, money/other commitments etc You are no better, you are not a bigger fan, you are a jumped up arrogant thrower who does not give a shuffle about your fellow fans so you can drop the WAWAW crap because you are not, I'm glad some season ticket holders have been rewarded for their loyalty ...but at what price ? at the price of your fellow fans and you haven't got that good a deal they have just manipulated it to seem you have, a good deal would be money off the already overpriced tickets from last season and a refund for all the utter shyte we have poured money into the club to watch for the best part of 20 years. My old man has been going 50 odd years, all through the 70's home and away which he tells me about and how they were far worse than owt we have seen etc, took me as a kid in the 80's and glory days of the early 90's, he works in a steel factory ( A real sheffielders job, you can't call yourself a Sheffielder if you haven't worked in a steel factory and busted your balls for roger all for best part of 50 years) *I am being sarcastic for the thicker among us ;) he can't afford a season ticket but goes to probably 80/90% of home games maybe more maybe less depending on this and that, can he afford to go this season now ? can he roger, so he's not a #TRUEFAN according to some of these absolute weiners talking balls myself I go when I can, generally about half the home games, and a few away here and there, again sometimes more, sometimes less depending on health/money/other commitments (I love Wednesday but they are not my number 1 priority in life exactly, its a game of football at the end of the day) I was looking forward to this season massively, not fussed if we went up, part of me wouldn't want to as I find the premiership dull and the championship an open and exiting league, good football, a play off push and a decent cup run would be for me a great season, planned on trying to get to a few more games if possible.... now the prices have been announced,....couldn't give a poo poo as I won't be going, priced out of the game which was already overpriced by a club I love I'll go max £30 a ticket and that's too much by 50% IMO any games more than that, no thanks, I don't accept being taken for a mug by anyone least of all someone/something I love, and we as a collective have been taken as that for 15 odd years, just cows to be milked, you talk about loyalty? what about loyalty to us the fans for supporting such a shambles for so long?? where is that? This is a massive balls up, attendances will be shocking and atmosphere worse than ever, imagine if we start off bad? those groans turn into boos pretty quickly in a half full Hillsborough, how you going to get the floating fans back? lower prices? too late for that. full respect to those who follow blindly, year after year, season ticket after season ticket, home and away, but if your going to look down your nose all smug and think your more of a Wednesdayite than others!!!!!???? I hope you choke on your prawn sarnies tbh WAWAW ???? Really ??? are we ??? To the proper Owls who have season tickets yet understand what all this means for us ''none proper fans'' and are more bothered about Wednesday rather than some kind of one up manship on other fans, I hope we have a great season and you get to see some amazing football and have a bit of glory. to the smug lobbers out there, lets just hope your health and wealth holds up for next season eh? agree with you 100% ive gone for 60+ years and now pick my games. man up ffs

sheffsteel
I have a question for the happy clappers. What if next season it was doubled to £100 each to attend each match Would you be saying "well the club need extra revenue to improve an average side that finished mid table, so of course if your a real fan that cares then you'll agree to pay £100 each per match". The prices are obsene and the fans should sow solidarity and protest. There should be a ceiling of £15 average in league 2, £20 average in league 1. £25 average in the championship and £30 average average in the PL. Lee A
"it's what it costs to get to the premier league" No fan, Wednesdayite or otherwise should have such a casual view on this, it just highlights everything that is wrong with the modern Sky TV generation of football, who cares about the working class supporter, if you want to get to this alleged holy grail you'll skint yourself and do as you're told, all for the honour of watching your team getting hammered week in week out by the teams Sky and the PL actually care about, then relegated, all for an even more extortionate matchday price Lucky us, we're finally going to the PL, and nobody will be able to afford to go

Last_Great_Hope
I have been living abroad for 4 years and il be visiting Sheffield/home in august and October this year. Ive been planning my trip (holiday in Spain Italy and Oktoberfest in Germany and then a flight to Australia) around getting to see a couple of games, reading and hull. The prices are just too much for me know tho, as I'm bringing over Canadian dollars it could work out close to $100 for a match, a friend pointed out we could watch man city for cheaper, gutted the club has priced me out. So see one game not a couple of games. Whats the problem? Also you actually have no idea how much those games will cost yet, as they haven't been assigned a category. How do you know the club has "priced you out"?

Hang on. I agree with the prices but have never called others 'not proper fans'. I believe you will find the money if you want to go just like people did against Wycombe and when they DIDNT find the money at £10 a game last year. It is all about entertainment. You say that you will spend £30 maximum and lets say you go to 4 games a year spending £120. Well thats in your budget you can now watch 3 CAT B games and be entertained or 4 (same as your £30 budget allows) CAT C/ D/ E games. Nothing has really changed. We are just making more money out of better opposition. The lower teams will still be similar or just as cheap to watch. Please look outside of your bubble and consider the lesser categories where you will see you can afford a few matches at '£30 maximum'

butchpt6
The flip side of the coin is that us season ticket holders have helped keep the club running alongside the chairman, have sat quietly as ticket offers come and go and have then listened to these occasional visitors bemoan the standard of players and quality of the game and that they won't come again until the chairman puts his hand into his pocket Its all a bit chicken and egg And this is the problem that the OP referred to. The arrogance of some (not all) season ticket holders. If they had their way us 'part timers' would be banned from the ground. You'd rather sit smug with a 12,000 attendance than have us 'part timers' in the ground I've followed wednesday 30 years (not good enough) I've been home and away over those 30 years, probably getting to 25 games a season (not good enough) Now I can't work out how much money I've spent in replica shirts, merc, and all those tickets over the years as prices change however I'm still not a true fan compared to the guy whose had a season ticket for the last 5 years What a load of codshit (as it was put) I know as much if not more about the Owls as you sir, I follow them with pride - as much as you sir. They are MY CLUB - as much as they are yours. I've always worked weekends - unfortunately that means a season ticket isn't an option I also have a young family to take care of I cant justify to my family, or myself paying £40 for 90 mins football So as the OP says, we aren't all wednesday are we Just the season ticket holders are
