eDDie
The Scunny stadium is a really interesting one for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Glanford Park was the first purpose-built 'new' stadium of the modern era - so now it's also the first one to be replaced with ANOTHER purpose-built new stadium. Secondly, Scunny are really buying into the same 'community club' ethos that Lee Strafford made the cornerstone of the SWFC World Cup bid and Hillsborough plans. Their owners have considerable wealth, with the wife of the chairman having recently sold 50% of Wilko's retail chain and admitting that she has fallen in love with the club despite originally only going to accompany her husband. They're - on a smaller scale - building the same sort of sustainable campus site as Man City, and the stadium, while larger than their current needs, will basically guarantee that they can operate profitably should Scunny eventually make it back into the Championship. Arthur Bach
Scunthorpe are not only one of the genuinley debt free clubs in the country but are also one of the very, very few to turn a profit and have done for years.
FlyingOwl
The stadium is just Keepmoat/Rotherham with a jazzy arch. I do like the whole campus idea though.
jamsandwich
Likeing that arch at scunny. very nicely done. "Glanford Park was the first purpose-built 'new' stadium of the modern era - so now it's also the first one to be replaced with ANOTHER purpose-built new stadium." Thats a good fact - nothing is built to last anymore!.

GY-owl.4
yeah sorry lads, Liverpool and scuny. Scunys is gonna be good.....but someone mentioning the community thing, i agree they are trying to do that, but the location stops it being ideal... taking the stadium out the populated bit and more towards the M180, better for us away fans, but not ideal for locals who the club want to use it on a daily basis. for anyone thats going to scuny for our friendly on wednesday night, ATM you turn off the M180 then travel for a mile or so down that dual carriageway then hit the ground, (on your right) ... as you can see the new ground will be on them fields you pass on the left upon leaving the motorway. mattitheowl
Anfield Eastlands That girder! Jeeeeeeeeesus. One thing that bugs me about the Etihad is the lack of writing in the stands. I can't think of another ground that doesn't have at least the club initials in the seats. Just not bothered...
Ash-Williams
That's exactly what The Etihad needed, It look half finished before
GY-owl.4
notice the Etihad doesn't have its blue matting anymore. probably ripped up due to the damage taken during the build... be interesting to see if they re-do it the same or not.
jamsandwich
They've made a right mess of the etihad. It was lovely before. They new corners are hideous.
Miffed
Agree with everyone, that stand at Anfield looks awful. It looks tacky and out of place. They've had so many opportunities to build a new stadium, now they're playing catch up and it shows. East lands, on the other hand, is looking great. Reminds me a bit of a mini Burnabeu. Patient zero
Tottenham are starting work on their new stadium, have you seen the outside of the current WHL, externally it has to be one of the World's ugliest grounds, looks like a load of old aircraft hangars pushed together (Would post some of the pictures but never been able to fathom out how to do it on here). Utah Owl
Looking at the space around the ground at Anfield they have room to expand the stand on the other side of the pitch and the Kop if needed further down the line (assuming the EPL hasn't eaten itself by then. In fairness the most impressive one so far looks to be the Etihad. Modern but with character.
