Transfer window

Recommended Posts

Teams are always free to agree terms, fees, etc, it's just that the registrations and therefore the actual transfers can't go through until July the 1st.

In europe the window usually opens in June, so it may be the European window Sky are referring to.

I don't know if that means we will be announcing anyone, we still can't register them until July 1st.

Today, officially from fifa.

1st July tends to be the start date of contracts. As it's not worth starting a players contract when they won't be playing/training in June. That was my take on it.

Although I think there's a difference between UK internal transfers against buying from abroad.

You can have it on any date you want if you pay a "fee" to FIFA

With several clubs tapping & snapping last month, can we finally put to bed, the notion that transfers don't happen until July?

Obviously the best Bosmans go first, then the decent fee players, then finally the sh*t bosmans & rejects

Current Transfer Status - 'Only May June July August FFS'

Of course players get signed throughout May, nobody ever questioned that. Generally they are players happy to pick up at club

Look at last summers free transfers

The better bosmans agreed deals throughout mid June - mid July

People bring up the 1st July because it's the day that clubs announce signings, Forest have signed Jamie Ward and Matt Mills but the chances are it won't be on their official site until then

This is the rules regarding transfer window from wikipedia although this is only a summary of the details on the FA site.

Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June. International transfers cannot be made until the window has opened on 1 July. Outside of the transfer window, a club may still sign players on an emergency basis, usually if they have no goalkeeper available. Special dispensation from their competition's governing body, for example the Premier League, is required. The transfer window restriction does not apply to clubs below Football Conference National level.[27]
