Bluesteel
What on earth happened to Maghoma. Came here highly rated and did f all. It took him a few years to get going at button too. I suspect he has it in him at this level but we haven't got the time to wait
mozzy85
1RB 2 CB 1 LB 1 RM 2 CM 1 LM 2 ST 10-11 perhaps? Considering 14 have left including the 3 loans. That'll do me beautifully
Lee A
Would have preferred to keep Mattock and bin Helan off but that was never going to happen with Mattock out of contract Good to see us moving quickly with this though, hopefully we get recruitment right and the days of simply filling the shirts are now over and quality outweighs quantity, should be interesting and maybe even exciting for once
gurujuan
— GK Keiren Westwood - Best keeper outside Prem and, probably, better that most Prem keepers — DF Claude Dielna - Jury's out. Good in patches, awful in others — DF Tom Lees - Brilliant thus far and the right age to improve further. Needs to lose the "looks twice the player with Loovens next to him" tag though. — DF Liam Palmer - This season was great then poor then great again when Vermijl came in - does he perform better when he has competition? — DF Marnick Vermijl - Can't judge- we've not seen enough of him — MF Jeremy Helan - World beater when the pitch was in good condition early in the season, awful when the ball started bobbling around. Jury's out. — MF Sam Hutchinson - Good in patches, awful in others, either injured or banned. Will he ever play enough games for us to see the real Sam Hutchinson? — MF Filipe Melo - Can't judge - we've not seen enough of him — FW Sergiu Bus - Can't judge - we've not seen enough of him — FW Caolan Lavery - Can't judge - performed well out on loan after injury but now needs to transfer that to SWFC's first team — FW Stevie May - Some think he started well, others don't; we all could agree that he hasn't finished well. I'm not his greatest fan and think he was a "panic buy" — FW Atdhe Nuhiu - Can be great outside the box but tends to be awful in it; determined and spirited but "Cow's arse" and "Banjo" spring to mind — GK Chris Kirkland - Great keeper but Westwood is better so he would have to resign himself to playing second fiddle — DF Glenn Loovens - Brilliant. Never breaks sweat. I haven't seen him sprint but he doesn't have to his awareness and positioning are so supreme — MF Kieran Lee - Enigmatic tending to brilliant. Will have to improve somewhat if he is to hold down a place next season but I believe he can improve — MF Chris Maguire - Unlucky in terms of having to play out of position so often. Bench player in future unless he can force his way in up front — MF Jose Semedo - Brilliant defensively and offers something that no other player offers. Limited in other key aspects. His improvement is testament to his attitude! I think we've got a fair bit of recruitment to carry out id we're going to challenge even for the top six. Decent assessment that
roaminowl
II am wortied about Left Back at the mo - Helan (who can't defend) and Dielna (who can't defend)...hope he's got someone lined up... I think they are both still under contract so haven't been included in the list of released/offered new contract players. Presumably, they (and others) could still be offered up for sale/free transfer if Gray doesn't see a future for them here.
mozzy85
Zayatte has had a bit of bad luck. He's shown everyone he's a capable player. but his injuries is something we simply can't carry. Same with Buxton... came back at the end and put his shift in, but a player who can only see half the season isn't what we need right now. The rest shoes the direction we want to head. Left back has been an issue so it looks like we're going to try and address it. I'd have tought kirkland will move on. he'll either want more football, or more money than we'd need to spend on cover. As for semedo, lee and maguire... I can't see any being first choice next term, so it's all down to what they want really. If they want to stay and fight for their position or if they just want it easy. I can only see Lee staying out of those 3 just because he's versatile and knows he's likely to rack up games anywhere on the pitch Semi will stay even if it's to play a few games I think. He loves it here and the fans love him. Lee will stay. Not sure about Maguire. Hope kirkland stays as he is an excellent backup keeper to westwood. HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
So many going is a statement of intent as far as I'm concerned. Looks like SWFC will no longer be a retirement home for journeymen, has-beens, and never will be's Let the good times roll Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. jonnyowl
Agree with all that, a bit surprised about Mattock as we have no natural LB! Thanks for the service Buxton Don't care about the rest! Not sure if Kirkland will sign!
james o connor
Hopefully shift out the remaining dead wood in dielna Helen and Hutchinson though nobody in the right mind will take the latter two . Shame about mattock. Rest were always on the cards

We probably see Dielna as predominantly, a centre back, and Helan's versatility make him worth keeping. I think we'll be looking at bringing in a first choice left back, and perhaps a younger back up centre back
RichieB
Very happy with that list of players leaving. Right decision to let Buxton go too IMO. Been an excellent player over many years for us, just struggled to stay fit the last couple of years. Good luck to him.

gurujuan
Weev got to try and get the strikers out of the door Maybe that's what Roeder had in mind when he said he'd be clocking up the air miles There must be some clubs out there that could use em

I was just trying to point out that the players that are currently left in the squad could be moved on if Gray wanted to do so. They just haven't been included in today's lists because they are still under contract. I personally think that a few more will be shipped out but we'll see. Interesting times ahead. WalthamOwl
Kirkland is a good keeper but should we really keep him, can imagine his wages are quite high, would have been nice to have a youngster as no.2.
Musn't Grumble
Especially sad to see Buxton going but at least Stu gave him a few games at the end of the season to put him in the shop window. Buxton will have no problem getting a game elsewhere, probably in the Championship (weren't Derby and Ipswich interested?) or aspiring League One side. I reckon that Mattock and Zayatte both improved as players since their arrival at S6 but they are probably not Premier League standard although they did well this season and, again, should easily be snapped up by another Championship or decent League One club.
