My main worry was that Stu would keep hold to a lot of bit part players such as Mattock, Coke and Buxton. When really we needed a big clearout and replace them with quality signings. Wouldn't be sad to still see 1 or 2 of the remaining players move on for small fees or whatever. He's got another 2 years left. Minton Posted May 5, 2015 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Sorry to see Buxton and Mattock go, I thought Mattock in particular got a lot of unecessary stick on here, every time I saw him play he looked pretty solid and a damn sight better than Helan or Dielna. Suppose that if we are bringing in someone then we need to clear the decks a little though. Hopefully Lee, Loovens and Magic will re-sign, surprised we've offered Maguire a new deal though. Let's face it, if their contracts were ending last summer, those 11 would probably be resigning. It had to be done. I hope they all find new clubs soon, even madine. Hack-Abusi Posted May 5, 2015 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Disappointed for Buxton and Mattock. same here - and Zayatte based on how he's performed this season HOWEVER - looking at it in a positive slant - this SHOULD mean that the money freed up from these players is put to decent use .. i'm hoping so i can't think of any left backs that are available and real quality though. no cresswell's or mings spring to mind sad to see Buxton go - he's been with us for a while so though we might see a 1 year deal offered as a back up player but as above - no room for sentiment if we want to reach the promised land Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
