scram
Fans are like kids in a sweetshop. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for... Hardly. We've needed a centre forward since Conner Wickham left. I agree, we are playing well, but it's better to strengthen now, rather than in previous years when we've relied on loans to get us out of the bobbar, rather than into the play offs. Our fans need a shift in mentality, not an afternoon in a sweet shop.
Guest wilyfox
Recruitment is an ongoing process that never stops, whether we're doing well or not - and especially when there's a part of the team we can clearly improve upon.
Southie_Owl
Being able to bring on Hooper instead of Nuhiu or Bus seems like a no brainer to me, but I admit I do enjoy the odd gobstopper
gurujuan
We could do with recruiting someone who can stand in for Forestieri. He's so important to the way we play, whether it's alongside, Joao, Nuhiu or a new striker. Maybe we can find a youngster in the Portuguese League, in January, either on loan from one of the big clubs, or perhaps splash out on a prodigy, as we did with Joao. Will be interesting to see how we cope without him against Arsenal on Tues

Guest TommyTank
Hooper would be a good signing but we would have no height apart from our CBs. We are a small team. Joao and Nuhiu gives us a bit of height. However, if we have every intention to keep the ball on the floor maybe there isn't a need.

Yes that would be a bit of a worry, not only in attack, but in defence also. Virtually every match, it's Nuhiu or Joao who are getting the headed clearances on corners and set plays. gurujuan
hooper's decent in the air joao and nuhui aren't Is he? Don't remember it being one of his better attributes. Not saying we shouldn't bring him in, we need a bit more of a cutting edge, but we need to make sure we don't upset the balance of the side

scram
I wish for a number nine that is better than Nuhiu. I think the game has changed (metaphorically) This harks back to a time when our squad was being rebuilt, we had plenty of doubts about "the committee", Roeder, DC, the players being brought in - not to mention the new head coach - and absolutely bizarrely some had got it into their heads that we needed a 2nd rate nobody from league 1 to coach the team or we were gonna be doomed! Now we have seen the manifestation of those things - our players are good, our head coach has a plan and knows what he's doing - the owner is prepared to bring in players and invest generally and our team is shaping up very nicely Team building is extremely complex - when Blackburn signed possibly the best goalscorer outside the premier i don't think they expected to be using him just to stay in the championship People keep saying this player isn't good enough or we need to strengthen that position - where is our 20 a season striker etc But we are doing well and hitting the kind of consistency that see the mid table team get into the play offs I'm not saying we shouldn't strengthen - but getting new players is not always strengthening Just adding a goalscorer to a well-functioning team doesn't always equal an improvement - it has been seen many times that you can lose more than you gain
waynecoyne14
just looked it up and apparently he is not known for his heading prowess so apologies I think the addition of someone like him or Rhodes would help us turn the 0 0's into 1 0's
